Thank God you are not a professional but an unemployed student. No professional will behave in that manner. They must be dismissed. We have better nurses still at home looking for employment.

The nurses don't even know the code of ethics of the GHS how can a professional behave like this and who trained them nursing? Retrain them. Don't take the law into your own hands please

If assuming and not accepting that the nurse assaulted the woman first, then that's bad but I think people must realize that our professionals are humans and not super humans and so deserve some respect like any other person. Theuly are humans first before nurse.

i write to respond to this article and to also register my displeasure at the way news is brought online without any background checks.Ghanaweb was one of the news outlets i check out for news until now,I think its high time i reconsider reading your publications.I am also dismayed at the way the editor allowed such lame, lazy, cheap and agenda driven news be posted on such a reputable platform! Always remember that on judgement day,the tongue will account for all it said on earth. Bearing false witnesses is as grave as eating the meat of your mother.
well,since the reporter failed to do his homework well, there are few questions i will want to ask and probably educate you on your own job because i am not a journalist.
1. Have you ever heard of what they call VISITING HOURS? Of course you dont,because anyone just gets up and enters your chief editors office to lodge a complain.I wont blame you on this.
Secondly, Do all visitors have to conveniently make themselves comfortable on patients' beds when they come to visit? Again you cant answer that cos it will take you time to figure OUT what is meant by NOSOCOMIAL INFECTION.
Thirdly, am even more confused here,by your report,you said the lady came to VISIT and take the MOTHER home!Mmmm,which is which? Was it a visit or it was a discharge after treatment? Ok, let me help you out, am assuming you will say it was a visit. But come to think of it, why will you take a laboring woman or a woman in the maternity ward home when she has not been declared fit ? Again, you are naive here because though its not your area of expertise, if you had done your homework right, you would have known the physiological impact that will have on mother and baby.
To expose your laziness further, you couldn't even tell your audience which type of ward your supposed patient was. To bring you out of the dark, she was in the LABOR/MATERNITY WARD and it was never also the lady's mother who was on admission as you claimed.
Also, lets assume the said nurses or nurses were so arrogant or even crazy. And again lets assume the lady visited at the VISITING HOURS and NEVER also used the patients' BED AS A SIT, why didn't these arrogant and crazy nurses fight with all the others around except the said lady in question? I know you are raising your eyebrowns now.
Furthermore dear lazy reporter, if the nurse had taken the first shot at goal.....lol!, and she retaliated and mobbed beaten by the nurses to the extent she was bitten very deep by one vampire nurse(hahaha, i cant think madness!!!), don't you and i think all these were enough evident for her to report it to the police ? Not even withstanding the people who also witnessed the incident.My question here is, why is she at large when she has a case, even with witnesses? Why will the said lad's mother you people claim was the one admitted be pleading for the case to be made out of court settlement when she witnessed her daughter being assaulted? or do you have the view she is siding with the nurses ? Of course no,blood is thicker than water.
GhanaWeb, this publication was far below your standards. Ethically, i don't know how you people call this blunder. Though you work to get daily bread and fill your stomachs, also remember that a day will come when your soul will have to answer many questions as to how your earned food to feed the flesh. I dont blame the above people for their comments because they were misled by the very people (ghanaweb) they trusted to feed them with authentic and non agenda driven news. I think if the reporter has abeef with the hospital facility, he should try to sort it out in a different way with them, rather than putting his journalism profession on a cheap auctioning. Its a shame to the journalism fraternity as a whole. Am done!

The district director must be sanctioned for allowing this illegal strike by the nurses.

Hmmm it surprises me some times seeing media men obtaining false information's from people on the street and failing to obtain such information's from the right source. This story is concocted to suit the interest of the patient relative. The said nurse asked the relative to wait outside the ward cos ward rounds was on-going. This relative went and sat at the nurses office (station). The nurse again said please we are on ward rounds wait outside as your colleague's did but this relative asked the nurse "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?". Do you also know who i am, said the nurse. Upon saying this by the nurse, this relative gave her a slap. No any colleague nurse retaliated as said in the story. This information was heard hours after the incidence. The Police were sent to arrest the lady but by then, she was already at large. The parents of the lady has promised the Police to produce the lady any where she is for the law to take it's own action before 2weeks . This incidence happened in the maternity ward. A similar case happened in the hospital about 2 months ago when a relative slapped the medical officer of the hospital and asking him the same question. A doctor and a nurse is sent to a facility to provide health care services but not to be beaten. It is high time Ghanaian medias look for trained journalist as correspondents and not street people or assembly men. The DCE and the acting chief of kpembe met the the staff and management of the hospital to plead on behalf of the relative to resume work while they describe the appropriate punishment for the culprit. I urge the hospital management to sue the publisher of this information for deceit of public and tunishing the image of the hospital. Thank you.
