This is the best advice a Diploma can give Ghana, at this point in our existence. And, gladly, it is coming from a man whose Nation has done it with enviable success the way he suggests.
If we hadn't thrown away the baby with the bathwater, abandoning all that Nkrumah had initiated after his overthrow for instantaneous political convenience, we would not be needing such an advice today. We immediately cut off the Government from the most crucial needs of the people whose efforts were what held the Nation's Economy together. While some might cite the fallen residual Government price for Cocoa by the time Nkrumah was overthrown as no better deal for the Farmers, the same folks would not like to admit that other parts of our Agricultural sector had just begun to grow well for the diversity of our Economic dependence. Meanwhile, that fallen Cocoa price is even now believed to have been a Western conspired machination to see Nkrumah fail in his developmental agenda to discourage other African Colonies from following his ambitious path to full freedom from imperialist bondage. The Cocoa Cartel was said to have been coerced by the Western Powers to drop the price of Cocoa when Ghana needed the money most to complete vital projects, especially the Akosombo Dam.
However, we ditched the massive Irrigation and other Agricultural Engineering programs that Nkrumah had initiated as well. We let the many Import-substitution Industries that the Israeli Ambassador is alluding to collapse to restore our dependency on the Western Trading Partners whose own Economies hinged upon our cheap supply of Raw materials to them. They needed us to keep servicing their Economy much further. At least, our continued import-dependency on them assured them a buoyant home Employment rates.
Agricultural Engineering expertise is one most prominent area of collaboration that the Israeli Government under David Ben Gurion offered Nkrumah's Ghana. And so, the current Israeli Ambassador is only reminding us of what his country had long offered to help us do to improve our situation but we foolishly abrogated.
Long Live Israeli-Ghana Friendship!
Long Live Israel!!
Long Live Ghana!!!

UNLESS THE AGRICULTURE SECTOR IS OVERHAULED,WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE FOOD IMPORTERS AND WITHOUT HOPE FOR THE FUTURE.

Thus is why nana Addo is coming with one village one dam policy to boost the agricultural sector.Agricultural is one of the key to the growth of our economy .That was the secret of kuffours administration, we had no oil at that time but was able to stabilize the cedi.we had enough to eat and export to generate some dollars. The Israeli ambassadors has said it all why will you be importing rice,2 weeks old chicken meanwhile you have a good soil.We can do better than what we are doing today.let's me tell you some importance of boosting the agricultural sector
*Ghanaians will always have enough to eat
*They will be money in the pockets of Ghanaian since food will become so cheap
*we can produce better chicken than what is been imported it has no taste and has high amount of cholesterol which affect the health of Ghanaians.
*Government is gonna save millions of dollars in the importation of rice and chicken etc which will strengthen our currency.
We are not into technology, manufacturing of cars ,mobile phones ,laptops etc there the best thing we can do is to feed the world which we can and we gonna earn millions of dollars from that.Ghana rise up.

Nmmmm Ghana as a country is not serious at all since the top officials are those who carryout importation of agriculture products how can they invest in large scale farming or agriculture since their thinking of thier gains or profits. There are many Agriculture youth who do have the needed resource, they just have to be engaged with the needed support. Government upon Government, the same trend of mistakes, I don't careerism and selfishness. Only God can intervene.
