By our electoral rules, candidates who obtain at least 12.5% of the valid votes will have their filing fees returned to them. This means that only candidates who shouldn't have been on the ballot paper in the frst place will lose their moneys. As a result, the winning candidates as well as those who show credible performance will not be faced with any indebtedness as a result of the filling fees. In the 2012 election for instance, NDC and NPP virtually received all their moneys back. What Pratt is saying is therefore not true.

Go back and check NNPs 8 years in Government.Check for their corrupt activities and see if they even qualify morally to talk of corruption. Ghana Airways, Lands, Govt houses, Ghana Telecom, Ghana Embassy USA, ECG meters,etc.

Since most of our politicians are the millionaires, they should be made to pay more. Presidential candidates pay around five million and their Parliamentary ones pay about one million. Those who want to be ministers be made to pay two to three million cedis. After all, they come into politics poor and humble and go out rich and proud. If want fast money, then go into politics in Africa. In Africa, the richest people are the politicians. So their entry fees be considered investments. Their election to amass wealth is expensive, they must be made to pay for it at least in part, if not fully.
