In a country like ours, an elected President, who obeys the constitution , must be allowed to rule for 6 to 8 years. However, parliament should have a 4-year term. This gives opposition parties the chance of winning a majority as a safeguard against any uncosntitutional behaviour by a president.

Cape Verde? Seriously?

Mahama's recent pronouncements have shown that with someone like him at the helm of affairs of the country, Ghana would never progress. How do you compare Ghana to Cape Verde in terms of development? Cape Verde is a tiny West African island led by highly corrupt leader who has been president for many decades without any willingness to relinquish power. Cape Verde is a one party state, has no multi party democracy, no opposition parties, with the president recently putting in place laws to make his children succeed him if he dies.

I am beginning to seriously loose hope in Mahama. Just look at his recent announcement that if he is elected again as president, he would provide every house with a metre (1 house-1 metre). What stupid policy is that? You have unreliable power supply and instead of thinking of how to make up for the shortfall in the country's power supply, you are promising electric metres. What's the use of metres without the power? By the way, is the provision of electric metres not the prerogative of the electricity supply company?
