I think Mr. Nsowah has got this wrong. Why should so many students have phobia for the subject. It takes giving children in basic education being taught the right approach to whip up interest in Maths . That interest leads to the children enjoying practicing and solving mathematical problems. Great satisfaction is derived from being successful in solving maths equations and leads to more desire and interest in the subject. It takes a lot of practice to become a good mathematician and it cannot be studied like English, for example.
I am disappointed Mr. Nsowah who was in charge of our Education system in the past is putting the failures in the system to phobias.

kojo I lyk ur comments paaaa.de canker starts frm de basic.lets look at dis scenario,a situation wer a teacher who is not at a particular subject is compelled to b a class teacher, teaching dat particular subject he or she is not good at.what do you think that teacher will teach? nothing but confusing the children hence that menance in future.so I will prefer a subject teaching in our education system should start from class one.
