Those now siding with the hoodlums, were young men and women then. Strangely, they have not changed their perspectives in life, in spite of all the benefits that destardly act brought into their lives. Perhaps, they still are not aware of the danger that lies ahead of all of us as Ghanaians, if this act will not go unpunished. Our constitution is a particular designed rules and laws which we have implemented and to execute. We can't ralate it to the Bible since that has a different practice. However, there are no laws that restrict speaking politics on religious platforms.

If these 3 were unknown school teachers or fitting mechanics, for example, nobody would have mentioned petitions. They probably would have gone to prison for more than 4 months. This is pure politics but nothing else. In that case I support those asking for all prisoners to be freed if the Montie 3 walk. They are therefore asking the president to use his prerogative of mercy to quash this. These are two different issues. The rule of law is a sine qua non to the entrenchment of democracy in any country. We clamour for anything contrary at the peril of the nations very existence.

The Lords prayer did not request God to punish for us those who trespass against us. Jesus said that we must forgive them.
The President of Russia granted presidential amnesty to the Ukrainian woman military officer who murdered in cold blood two Russian journalist in Eastern Ukraine, who was defended and supported by NATO and EU. If it was a Russian who kill an Ukrainian the west will not call for her release. So this is the world in which we live, two worlds with different morals.

There is a difference between forgiveness and punishment. If out out your own lust you commit adultery and contract HIV/AIDS and you confess your sins to God, God will forgive you, but you still have to live with the disease until either you get a cure for it or you die with it. We have laws in Ghana and these Montie 3 have been convicted with that offence. As much as they will be forgiven, they should still fave the punishment. You cannot murder someone and just beg by saying you are sorry and then you are set free, the law must take its course. So the Moderator is right and Koku is wrong because there should be a line drawn to issues like these to serve as deterrent to others.
