He is only a coach when it gets to the Olympics....Who is he caching? He has threatened all US based athletes to select his school. Those who don't......( ask the athletes anonymously and they will tell you). The athletes are hustling in the US , it is believed they are to be given stipends but looks like Owusu sits on their money.

The article makes a factual mistake about what i said on the issue of visa racketeering but since an appeal is in progress and, in respect of the legal process, I will not comment on the case. However, i am getting tired of this irrational criticism of the work i do to help our student athletes. First, in addition to my teaching duties, I coach year around and I am certified by USATF. Perhaps you did not only show interest when Olympic Games comes around, you would notice my I work year-round on both physical and academic development of our athletes.
None of the athletes from Ghana is obligated to come to the school where i teach. I don't know who you talk to but when i get unsolicited correspondence often asking for my advice on both track and school issues, from athletes in different schools, i know i am doing something right. It blows my mind that for well over a decade, there was no systematic effort to simply link athletes with schools at the level that they qualify academically. No effort to make available to them basic informational resources to help they and their families find the help they need concerning tertiary education in the US.
Yet you are criticizing me and others for helping these athletes and for the fact that some athletes from Ghana want to be in the same institution as i am? You would rather prefer we not try and help athletes within the boundaries of relevant amateurism rules? Why would you not want these athletes to be helped? Or does it have to be done in a way that you personally approve of? If I stopped, who would help at the level at which I have been involved in the past few years?
Finally, there is absolutely no money for “lesser” sports in Ghana. So please help me understand who or what entity is providing stipends for these athletes; by the way that would be in violation of amateurism rules at NCAA DI and DII, JUCO and NAIA levels. You people just make stuff up and think that anybody who is helping athletes must surely be doing so for some personal/financial gain. Newsflash!!! Some of us help because someone else helped us. It truly is that simple.

how true this is and it is amazing and so detrimental to Ghanaian athletics as a hold - Lutterodt only wants to come onboard, know the proper homework has been done and athletes are showing signs of great improvement - I heard at first hand in Athens what the athletes thought at that time - it was pitiful and it would do a huge miscarriage if he was ever put in charge again

Ok Ok something is wrong here. I followed this case for a while. From what i know and i have checked on the former chairman is on record saying what there were people in the GAA when he was chairman who were involved in visa racketeering. The coach who was also a former athlete said the same thing and this man took him to court because the he claims what Owusu said means he was involved in visa racketeering. Only in Ghana. God save our judicial system.

this is a total miscarriage of justice and so sad that the justice system still can be swayed by external influences - hopefully on appeal this can be put right, providing the judge involved gives a real verdict
