At the universities, we have Registrars, administrators, secretaries, finance officers and the rest who takes of day to day administration of the universities. So Ofosu Kwakye is wrong to site this example. The VC is an academician and only gives directions and the administrators does the rest. I do not see anything wrong with the accession of Mr. Okudzeto because some of Mahama;s appointees are just there to make the numbers. If you have an appointee who even cheated on his thesis at the university what do you expect such person to achieve. Time will tell.

Brilliant and intelligent Ghanaians have been sidelined as far as running the country is concerned, and instead, people “who know next to nothing” are calling the shots due to extreme partisanship in the country, former president of the Ghana Bar Association, Mr Sam Okudzeto, has said.

“The country is full of very brilliant, intelligent people [but] we have sidelined them, we have pushed all of them to the side and then you have people who know next to nothing wielding power, showing power, and the rest of us are suffering. I think it’s about time that Ghanaians sit up,” he noted.

Speaking to host of the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Class 91.3FM, Prince Minkah, after think tank Institute of Economic Affairs launched findings of its pre-election survey, which identified unemployment, unreliable electricity, and poverty as the most important problems confronting Ghanaians ahead of the 2016 polls, Mr Okudzeto said Ghana needed an overhaul of governance structures to alleviate the suffering of the masses.

According to him, partisan politics and excessive centralisation of power had left the country with several development challenges. He said Ghanaians must sit up and challenge the wrong approach of governance, which is characterised by the abuse of power, by voting based on issues.

“…Excessive power that has been centralised, whereby one person virtually has power to dismiss everybody and appoint everybody, and we kept repeating it that it was a wrong approach to governance, but even if it is the constitution, you can still go behind it and say, ‘Let’s sit down and discuss the issue because this is national. What solutions can we provide for it?’, and then we can all put our heads together,” Mr Okudzeto added.

According to him, the amount of fuel guzzled per month by one V8 SUV used by government officials, can build a school for a village.

“Part of the problem that we are suffering from in this country now is because of the parties. They come into power, many of them you see are riding in V8 in Accra. Where are they going in V8 cars? Do you know the amount of petrol these cars consume? You will be shocked that that can provide a school block for a small village and that is one person using it for a month. The petrol one person uses for the month can provide a school block for a village”, he stated.

THAT WHILE THOSE STUDENTS/CANDIDATES WHO STUDIED LLB OR BA(LAW) AT LEGON WERE ALLOWED TO PURSUE THE PRE-REQUISITE MANDATORY COURSES TO GIVE THEM A DIRECT ADMISSION TO THE GHANA LAW SCHOOL THAT THOSE OF US WHO STUDIED LAW AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY, KUMASI JUST FOR THE FACT THAT THE UNIVERSITY DID NOT HAVE A FULL FLEDGE FACULTY OF LAW WITH THE LAW LIBRARY, THEN THAT TWO (2) OF THE MANDATORY PRE-REQUISITE COURSES WERE REMOVED AND INSTEAD OPTIONAL COURSES WERE RATHER ADDED THEREFORE WE WERE NOT GIVEN A DIRECT WALK IN TO THE GHANA SCHOOL OF LAW AND WE WERE CONSIDERED NON-LAW GRADUATES, THERETO.
THAT THERE WAS AN ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS CONDUCTED BY THE GHANA SCHOOL OF LAW FOR ALL NON-LAW GRADUATES WHO WANTED TO PURSUE THE LAW COURSE AND THE PROFESSIONAL BARRISTER-AT LAW (BL) COURSE. THERETO.
THAT AT OUR TIME ABOUT 300 UNIVERSITY NON-LAW GRADUATES TOOK PART IN THE EXAMINATIONS AND ONLY 50 CANDIDATES WERE ADMITTED AND HAPPILY I DID PASS THE EXAMINATIONS, THERETO.
THAT AT THE SAME TIME I WAS ALSO CALLED FOR AN INTERVIEW AT UNIVERSITY OF GHANA FOR THE MASTER OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION COURSE, THERETO.

The fact that someone is a professor, PHD and has administered a University does not mean she can run a countty's Educational system politically. Mr. Loud mouth, tell us what transformational policies has-the current Minister of Education offered and implemented since she took her job? She knows our educational standards are in the toilet and far worse than the standards she grew up on? Yet she is more interested in making Polytechnics Universities when the feeder system is matriculating pupils who cannot do rudimentary maths and science and language skills?
Are you happy with the current state of our economy and social dispensation? If you do then you belong to a patronage club of ignorants for whom looting the Ghana's Treasury equals governance! The challenges Ghana faces is not unique only to us. Every country in our planet has been impacted by lower commodity prices, economic contraction and globalization but most in our class have weathered these challenges better because they put together the best native talent to manage the challenges. Judging from the results to date and all the corruption scandals , one can say the Presedent has a weak team and a shallow bench( to use a sports analogy) despite a very deep talent pool in our country. Most incompetents are kept in their jobs despite weak performance and results.
The joke is we have our country on auto pilot and lie incessantly as our promises of solution come to pass. Dumsor is a good example.
So Mr Ofosu Kwakye you need to learn when to jump into a fight. Listen to what our wise old men tells us the young. Their advice are invaluable .
His message is simple : the root of our current state of affairs is due to not putting together the best team ( Talent) to handle the affairs of the country. A leader with good vision can always persuade or attract people of different political persuasion to work with him the good of the country. Results are all that matters,

All they care about are transformational policies that bring results to help everyone.To me a mindset that see no good in the comments that Mr Okudjeto made because he belongs to the NPP is wrong. To you and Kwakye Ofosu an idea is bad if the messenger is from the opposition. To the contrary, the point of Mr Okudjeto's comments was for our President and political leaders to build teams of competent and skilled talent available to solve our development challenges and not only based only political affiliation. The expressed idea would be the same for the NPP, CPP, PPP, PNC and so on, not only NDC. You or Kwakye Ofosu should tell us who of the current Presidents's Ministers in key potforlios has come out with transformational policies; Is it Finance, Agricuture, Industry, Energy, Education , Local Government decent inlet results? When the team can't get differentiated results then everyone on it is bad, pride not withstanding, especially when we have better local talent. Academic qualifications and experience is not necessarily a good indicator of performance . Some of our less educated Chiefs are wiser with better foresight than our so called educated leaders. You and Kwakye Ofosu should explain why we produce all these Civil Engineers from KNUST but have the Chinese build our roads ? Why all these recurring flood disasters.? Nkrumah a transformational leader modeled the Ghana State Construction Co. after the US Army Corp. of Engineers to handle water projects.
We have no trust in our Doctors and National hospitals so our political elite rush to South Africa, Dubai, UK and USA for medical care for ailments like Diabeties , prostate cancer, etc. And we have dumbed down our educational system to the low point in standards that the political elite educate their children in special ( expensive) schools like those of the Uk and USA so they cans end them to attend Universities in those countries. NDC calls itself social Democrats . What is the current team doing about leveling the playing field for all? Nkrumah made it possible for a bright kid from a cocoa farm in BA or the Savannah North to sttend the best schools in the country.? If you have a problem with the generalization then it is due to your political mental block. When a team is bad and can't get the desired results then it is due to untalented team members. We can generalize that the coach , the team and the whole organization is no good , especially if better taker are available.This has nothing to do with partisan politics. Am sorry elder Okudjeto spoke what need to be said. Only partisans who have their head in the sand can quarrel with the facts.

Fiifi Kwettey, Okudzeto Ablakwa, Kobby Acheampong, James Agyenim Boateng, Dr. Omane Boamah,Felix Kwakye Ofosu and others were all given appointments because of the constant insults they hurled at former President Kuffour through CJA with the chief orchestrator and sycophant-in-chief Kwesi Pratte. Indeed, this stratospheric ineptitude, unintelligence and incompetence is what triggered a quick bee-line by the Mahama NDC gov't to the IMF to look for technical expertise; an euphemism for competence and intelligence after Ghanaians stated emphatically, they had no confidence in the ability of the highly incompetent Mahama NDC gov't to govern this country and lead it out of their own self-inflicted problems on this country. Any administration with half a conscience would have resigned and called for fresh elections when Ghanaians made it clear they had lost confidence in it.
It bears saying it is a different kind of unintelligence of the most prohibitively primitive kind, for a govt not to have the presence of mind or the ability or intelligence to retrace it's steps on actions it has taken solely, in inflicting disastrous cataclysmic wounds in the management of this country which has led to it's collapse.
That is in no way condescension since the facts bear such a position as stated by Sam Okudzeto out l, forcefully. Indeed, it is a dangerous and disturbingly worrying reality.
What is funny is this jittery toddler Ofosu Kwakye's response to the very apt statement and observation of the venerable Sam Okudzeto. In his desperate attempt to debunk the assertion of Sam Okudzeto, he cited the Minister of Education as an example of one who could pass the sniff test of the outrageous ineptitude, incompetence and unintelligence in the Mahama NDC gov't. The question is why did he not use himself? Besides putting the education ministry in context, upon critical scrutiny, examination and analysis, how has the professorship of the sector minister transformed the huge deficits and deficiencies in the educational sector of this country, which by the way, the P (NDC) has had it's hands on for close to about 3 decades in this country?
Felix Ofosu Kwakye clearly by taking himself out of the equation in this matter, has done more to effectively indict and screamingly prove the amazingly stupendous incompetence, ineptitude and unintelligence of the Mahama NDC gov't which has collapsed this country and Ghanaians are saying, he will leave office this December.
