The question is if someone is your friend, that person is awarded a contract which is inflated and later spent $100,000 on a gift to the friend. What will you classify this? Which president in Ghana's history, left a fortune for the nation? We have lived on monies derived from cocoa, the legacy of Tetteh Quashie, for over one hundred years. But it took Kufuor, only seven years to search and eventually found the golden fleece, oil and gas in commercial quantities for Ghana. Which president before or after, can then compare with Kufour?
Sam Okudzeto has said it all. Sam was the first Ghanaian to have spoken openly against the rot in governance, during the dreaded AFRC period. He is bold and full of knowledge and wisdom. He must be celebrated for his fight for the good of his countrymen and not to be put in any other light.

Ritewing, do you know what and how it takes to discover crude oil? Do you have any knowledge of the search for and discovery of hydrocarbons? This is the problem we have in Ghana. Ghana discovered some amount of quantity and quality crude oil during the tenure of office of former Presid Kufour. That is/was great. And more new oilfields are discovered and developed thenafter. Our former Presid Kufour stood on the shoulders of other individuals like Tsatsu Tsikata, and corporate entities like the GNPC, and the commitments put in by previous governments. Because of dirty politics we mount in Ghana, we pitifully failed to acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices made by others and, in our shotsightness, try to claim the glory all alone. We need to change that attitude, acknowlegde all who helped and are helping in our development as a nation, respect the elderly in the/our society, accord our dear former presidents the due respect, and then be patriotic citizens. By our patriotism and the fear and knowledge of God, he God will continue to bless our homeland Ghana.

Under his leadership,the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) took delivery of 126 new firefighting vehicles in 2012.In 2014,an additional 80?fire tenders were procured bringing to 206 the number of new firefighting vehicles procured by Government. The largest of these can carry up to 3,ooo gallons of water and 3,ooo gallons of fire retarding foam.

This represents a vast improvement over the 95 firefighting vehicles that were procured for them between 2001 & 2008,a situation that adversely affected their ability to effectively respond to fire outbreaks in the country.

The NPP administration in their eight (8) years in office never upgraded one single airport to the International status ...... but both the Tamale and Kumasi airports are being upgraded to the International status by the NDC government, adding up to the only existing Kotoka International Airport time in memorial. Again, there is ongoing construction of new airport at Ho in the Volta region

Prez Kufuor was lambasted by his own party when he tried to include other non-NPP Ghanaians in his team. None of these other Ghanaians were extreme opposition to NPP(NDC) but relatively friendly PNC,CPP.

Most affluent Ghanaians buy such fuel hungry vehicles that are not used often in the countries they are made and bring over to harm our economic growth by putting too much pressure on the fuel bills. These unscrupulous people are the very people who want to pay peanuts for the fuel they consume with their guzzling V8 vehicles. A NOBODY who could not even afford to buy a motor cycle finds himself in parliament and he goes shopping for a 4*4 vehicle. What is wrong with our mindset. We have turned parliament into another business enterprise or a big time investment where we must go and make profit or live a better life. That is why politics has become a do or die affair. If politics and governance is made unattractive by heavily punishing all acts of corruption by all incumbents irrespective of party affiliation or position in government then Ghana would have taken one giant step towards bring insanity in to politics and governance. All this All Die be Die mantra is because coming even senior politicians is because of the abuse of the political or governance system in the country. I always salute these guys who practice democracy especially those of Western Europe. David Cameron has resigned not because he was voted out or rejected by the voters but because he felt he did have the moral courage to lead Britain after his advise to stay in the EU was rejected by the majority in the referendum. He was not forced per se. That is political maturity in which all our leaders have all failed

Mr Okudzeto may have the point of great interest but can all the politicians of our today's world accept this. In my opinion they can never do it because now their eyes have opened to know SUV vehicles which they commonly called 4x4 thus for them to change their mindset or even believe that the fuel consumption involved can build a school will be a thing hard to visualize.

It should be acknowledged that vehicles need to be used by government officials but what type is the question that never enters into our minds. It is awful that the technical experts in Ghana are very wicked in their directives but people do not see them as the major problem. They foolishly advised governments either of selfish interest or know nothing.

When the Chines and the Italians gave us their buses which cost less and consume less fuel to use as metro buses, the experts discouraged the government of that time and destroyed the buses at the earliest time because they do not have people they can sell the spare parts to.

The Ghana police also did the same thing by refusing to use Tata from India and opted for 4X4 SUV Nissan Patrols which are expensive and consume more fuel. At the end of the day they sell the spare parts to their hidden customers.

Finally the govt officials may have their taste of what to drive but generally speaking the problems lies with our experts who use the govt of the day to have their selfish way out. The driving and use of vehicles consuming excess fuel do not only lie with what our eyes see, the govt officials who have limited days in office but instead all lie with our foolish expets with their wicked selfish goals.

However, this should not be misunderstod that the govt should not consider the advice of the learned lawyer Okudzeto and make adjustments to fit into our economy. This is not the issue of only the present NDC govt but it goes with all the politicians of the other parties in our national politics, so that we can achieve the needed developments.

Its so sad when senior citizens of our time speak this way. Lawyer Sam Okudzeto has been a lawyer since time in memorial defending people, those in power are also doing their jobs. The difference between Lawyer Okudzeto and them is, those in power are brave enough to stick out their necks to serve the common good, whether they do it right or wrong at least they gave it a shot, whiles Lawyer Sam was more into serving his own interest, taking form the citizens and amassing goodies for himself and family and also keeping his reputation intact but not sticking out his neck as a brave lawyer to serve directly in government.
Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata could easily have amass goodies or wealth by taking and not giving back to society but no, he stick his neck out there and even went to jail unlawfully all in the name of serving the country.
We need to critically think through very carefully the utterances some of our learned senior citizens make before drawing logical conclusions.

Degree holders alone are not the only people destined to rule. Where were they when people were offering themselves to be voted for? I get irritated when some people claim to be knowledgeable. They will only begin to realize their level of emptiness when they begin to learn. Uncle Sam should name one person who is incompetent. Is it his name okudjeto ablakwa? Is he not part of those building the numerous senior secondary schools the so called knowledgeable ones of uncle Sam's type could not build? I perceive a knowledgeable person to be an acheiver. If you have all the degrees under the son and you don't help society achieve their desires to me you are worthless. Let us stop running down every one we oppose politically. Those who are always shouting on roof tops that Nana addo had a 3rd class cert must stop. It is not helpful. Mahama has done what he can. Let us wish him well as well. Your vote is secret. Just vote for the person of your choice and pray for a win for your preffered candidate.

I don't know where Lawyer Sam Okudzato is coming from with his biased prescription for the SC. When the same offender is brought before a judge on a similar case, he may give s severer punishment. But when a different offender is brought before a judge on a similar offence that was committed in the past by a different person, the judge cannot punish the current offender more severely. The punishment would be guided by the severity of the offence, but not as precedent. It is necessary to separate our emotional attachments to parties from the principles of law.

THAT THERE WAS AN ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS CONDUCTED BY THE GHANA SCHOOL OF LAW FOR ALL NON-LAW GRADUATES WHO WANTED TO PURSUE THE LAW COURSE AND THE PROFESSIONAL BARRISTER-AT LAW (BL) COURSE. THERETO.
THAT AT OUR TIME ABOUT 300 UNIVERSITY NON-LAW GRADUATES TOOK PART IN THE EXAMINATIONS AND ONLY 50 CANDIDATES WERE ADMITTED AND HAPPILY I DID PASS THE EXAMINATIONS, THERETO.

Awhile back I talked about too much "Power,"vested in one person to govern, The President," I called for the decentralization of the country according to the Regions. It will me a n that we indeed have a federal system in which each region will be Autonomous, and yet respect the federal Laws to govern.

In essence, each region will develop according to their needs. We would be better of with this old system of concentration of "Power,"in the hands of one person, The President. Centralization is not good for Ghana. It is about time that things changed.

Many Ghanaians, unfortunately do not understand the system of the Ghana Government, even those who works for the very government..

If you study Governments around the world you will find out that there are flaws in Ghana's Constitution, made it impossible for selfless good people to work for the Government. There are too much selfishness, jealousy and acrimony among many intellectuals in Ghana.selfishness is equal to discrimination and prejudice, which does not allow talents to to be discovered. The Ghana Constitution is holding Ghana at a stand still. It is wrong for a country not to appoint credible and intelligent people to responsible positions without being a "Parliamentarian. This fkaws in tge Constitution need correction. In addition there are many Ghanaians abroad who sincerely want ro come home and contribute to their country, but there are too many selfish, ignorant people in the Civil service who di not want a change, therefore, do not want these people to work with then.

The Ghana Civil Service is cir rupt. Unless the Predudent take a closer look in to the activities of eact Institutin, the situation will remain so.
