When will African leaders wake up from their slumber? After this investment they will be demanding their share so we end up by giving all the money back to them to develop their country whiles Africa continue to be poor

it is a shame for this to happen. The poultry produces in the US is full of hormones and stuff that is administered to the fowls to make them grow rapidly so that they can be harvested for the market and they are known to cause many of the cancers killing people here in the States. This is one of the ways the GMO lobbyists introduce their wares across the globe under the guise of helping poor countries.African should be wary of the intentions of the western countries. All this is about control. The last time i read that the Ethiopian government was lobbying for a seat so the Israeli State to have a observer seat at the AU.When will Africans learn ?
We are the only continent where our continental headquarters was built by a foreign government,China,.Do the African leaders know how the place was wired and i can guarantee you that the are surveillance equipment monitoring every word and move being done there. Is there a observer seat at the EU ,US,Israel,South America or Asia for Africa? We think we have friends but we dont. If you look at the figures ,the blacks including those in the diaspora are the most populated group of people on the face of the planet yet we dont have a seat on UN security council. All the major powers have military bases on the continent.I think Africa is the "bitch"raped by all people at will.We should wise up.African is the richest continent on the face of the planet bar non yet we are the poorest of them all and it is a shame that we have to turn to our so callled "friend"who did nothing but plundered the continent to help us to feed ourselves..How many European leaders steal money and put them in African banks?how many Western presidents come to Africa for medical treatment?
We should grow up after all these years and realism that slavery and colonialism hasn't end.It just took a new look.

hey Prince so you know, the sum may not necessary be used in increasing the quality of the poultry but to increase the quantity of the chicks and mind you there are always clauses in attached to the "aids"that benefits the chemical companies to sell their wares which cannot be marketed in the states dues to rigorous monitoring and sometimes outward ban as a result of the public awareness of their carcinogenic effects on the human body among other things. And yes ,i live in Seattle and has been educated and made aware that this so called "benevolence"ultimately benefits the US companies and really only a fraction of the dollars directly benefits the people.

The headline reads: "US government sinks $56m into Ghana poultry".
Yea: I've heard that one before.
The story was told that:
At the height of WWII when former US President FDR was on his way to visit the allied troops in Morocco (North Africa); he suddenly decided to stopover in neighboring Gambia. He was so appalled by the living conditions of the people. And in letter that he wrote to the British Prime Minister, he described Gambia as a "Hell-hole". He then demanded the British to pull out of Gambia immediately. In response to that letter, the British decided to bring some urgent FDI to Gambia. For that development: the British government set up poultry farms throughout Gambia. Unfortunately, that project failed badly.
My punch line to this wasteful Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) by the British in Gambia is:
'What did the British army eat first, -- the eggs, or the chicks?'.
On a more serious note: the lesson from this gesture by the United States is very depressing. The US is seeing Ghana today, through the same prism as her former president saw Gambia, -- "a hell-hole".
In the realms of all the major development problems facing our country, -- for which we badly need
FDI -- poultry farming is the future the US sees for our country.
The US will cut off funds that would help us provide electricity to the poor masses, -- unless we yield control of ECG. But it would have no problem growing poultry farms throughout Ghana.
A very synergistic idea: indeed!
May Lord Almighty continue to bless our beloved Great Ghana: Amen!!!
