The problems with the power sector despite 4 years of investment in generation capacity and deregulation demonstrate clearly that the Mahama administration is not a rational thinking government but a one-man show ochestrated by the President and his business interests. The first major sign was when the former Power Minister angrily accused the President of contracting for gas from Nigeria without his knowledge. The crowning illogical is the decision to order $90 million worth of prepaid meters when Ghana owes Nigeria for gas supply and government owes ECG for power consumption arrears. Does prepaid meters eliminate the generation problems. For 4 years the President kept assuring us that he was not interested in short term solutions that his why his deadlines for ending dumsor repeated lapsed with no solution in sight. He promised a long term solution then went for super expensive power barges for 10 years as an "emergency" stop gap. After all this we have returned to dumsor for the very same reason it started 4 years ago, that is because we do not have adequate fuel or gas to power the existing generation capacity even after increasing tariffs astronomically. The President said we will even be able to export power. This government thinks, talks and acts by heart. It behaves like it is running a petty trading enterprise in distress

the truth is that, "Ghana, your beloved country" is useless. what is the essence of the crude extraction in this country. can't we get this light crude from the crude we are extracting in Ghana. most of our leaders ( whether NPP NDC CPP etc) are not using their heads to benefit this nation in any way. they have shallow thinking when it comes to national development but deep thinking when it comes to ways of siphoning state assets to enriching themselves.

Does the govt want Ghanaians to believe this story? You are talking of "patience" and "understanding", what else could Ghanaians have done, demonstrate to waste their energy? Perhaps they are waiting for Nov. 7.
