This idea will not work base on the previous experiences the opposition parties have experience with the police. It's a fact that most of the opposition party’s members have been attacked with the police around. If I were to be a presidential candidate, I would not rely on the police since there have been instances where the police favour the government in power. Who told you police are the ultimate clean people? Hey, some of them have been helping the arm robbers that are a fact. Some police have been caught.
If police are going to protect the presidential candidates then I suggest the Head of Police or security should allow the candidates to chose or select the type of people they would like to protect.

The best thing now is as the disbandment continues you must take measures to check all the private securities we have in Ghana. See to it that they are properly scrutinize. Registrar General department must also stop registering a new private security organisation from now. That is the only way you can get a substantive result from all this policies.

I would also like to add that if possible (and I think it is possible) on election day all political party leaders and their running mates, including the president and his vice, should be kept at the police or the army headquarters until everything has died down; thus until all votes have been counted and the winner declared. I know those who are so into political correctness will say this is against their human rights, but we need to do what we need to do to maintain the peace in our dear nation.
