Protection of the Mine at Obuasi is the sole responsibility of the company with its headquarters in South Africa. Is the protection of the mine in South Africa the responsibility of the South African Government?. AngloGold Ashanti, should engage their own security personnel to protect the mine for them.Who told them that in Ghana, the Army is used for security purposes? If they cannot protect their own mine so be it. What they have to do is to arrest the galamseyers and present them to the police for trespassing and the Attorney General will prosecute them. Our Army cannot be used for security purposes for a private company.

I can promise you that knowing the place so well, there is nothing that neither the government, the company, nor the soldiers can do to stem the invasion of the company's concessions. Have you wondered why even the NPP's MP for Obuasi has been silent on the invasion of the mine? There is no solution to the problem and that is why we don't even hear Kwaku Kwarteng talking about it. It is that complex.
