The Police can ban all those sites if they find them threats to the security of the nation. Too much book-long without in-depth reasoning is killing us.

Only NDC will agree with such childish ideas. The police should rather apprehend efforts by individuals who by means of social media, report crimes, intimidation and snatching of ballot boxes by NDC footsoldiers during election and voting days because when they are a hundred percent assured that Mahama has lost, their best option is to steal and snatch the ballot boxes. All these ain't gonna work because will will not sit down for jon Mahama to use a few of these police forces to intimidate the citizenery, prevnting them to elect a president of their choice. If Kudalor wants something better doing, he better stop Togolees and Ivorian from voting and close the boaders because they intend to steal ballot boxes for Mahama, this time, it will not work. Also Kudalor must prevent the police from taking the voting machines to Togo and Burkina Faso to an unnamed pooling stations, oh, no, this time, we have seen it and will not sit down for them to act foolishly. NDC is a criminal party, having no good intentions for Ghana. Stealing of money and killing of people is what they do best. Nkwaseafuor.

That way, you have broken no law as there is no law prohibiting the jamming or disrupting communication channels BUT laws that prohibit the banning of the channels.

What a fantastic idea. Quick-thinking move and a stroke of genius. In a climate of tension that can be generated during elections, the IGP hopes to offset any unofficial pronouncements leading to mayhem.

We will resist any attempt by IGP and Mahama to ban the usage of the social media.

AFAG should not twist what the police chief is saying: that during the general elections, social media should be blocked in the interest of protecting the nation's security.
Freedom of speech is fundamental to a democratic Ghana, and cannot be breached by any authority, domestic or foreign, unless there is a proof that the nation's security is threatened during the elections, whether by using social media or drones.
Social media is here to stay and must be used responsibly.

Information should flow. There should be NO BAN. Social Media will spill the truth out. We cannot only depend on the government to inform the public. There should always be two or more sides to the story.

Freedom of speech in Ghana is totally misunderstood and delibrately misinterprated.
Insults, calculated lies, personal attacks and promotion of hatred is not what freedom of Speech is about.
