It means he has no understanding of the political economy of the two countries. La Cote d'Ivoire's economy is grounded and concretised in neocolonialism. In short, it is so wired into the economy of France itself that if we want to be looking over our shoulders each time and see what they are doing and compare,we shall steer ourselves over the precipice. We can only justifiably compare if we also invite the British to take control of our economy. But is that an option?Would we, as a nation prefer that or should we value our freedom more? We shall make mistakes along the way , but at least we are learning to take care of our own resources. There is a reason why la Cote d'Ivoire's economy is doing so well so soon after the civil strife that engulfed the country a few years ago. But that's another matter for another day.

Whether you like it or not, President John Mahama has done his part despite the problems created in the economy by the NPP. You've said a lot and have demonstrated some knowledge. But you should also admit that the eight months in the supreme court for an elections you knew very well you did not win created lots of liquidity problems for the economy. You didn't also know that at the time investors withdrew heavily from the banks and transferred huge foreign currencies out of this country whilst we wasted our time in the court.

Just after that, our foreign donors who had supported our economy for all these years declared Ghana a middle level income country, which implies we have to rely on meagre internal resources to finance our budgets.

Look, it has not been easy for the government to finance projects, provide welfare supports for some groups within the social strata, and still provide single spine type of salaries for public workers with the levels of taxes and big leakages in our systems.

Suddenly, everybody thinks the answers lie in Nana Akufo Addo who cannot tell how he can run a government without tax increments under the circumstances we find ourselves. We already have a history where the NPP called VAT a killer tax, and when they found themselves in government, they increased VAT. The VAT people died for in a demonstration was increased by the NPP. NPP became the first government to increase it. What a shame! If there is anyone who is a syncophant, following the NPP without thinking, I believe you're the person. It fits you squarely because your argument is is poor and empty. You have lost it!

Difference between NPP and NDC is simply about their style of governance which reflects what they are made up of. NDC is a tax and security oriented government. NPP is a business and judiciary oriented government. The problem is over taxing the people increases hardship and that could compel the people to either revolt, demonstrate and eventually vote you out of power.
