  Nigeria is headed for a 'full-blown economic crisis'
  
  Nigeria's economic crisis is getting worse.
  On Friday, the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics revealed that the economy shrank by 0.4% in the first quarter year-over-year — which was way worse than expected.
  Economists were expecting the country to grow by 1.8% year-over-year, according to the Bloomberg consensus.
  And now, analysts aren't feeling too good about the situation going forward.
  "We have long warned of a slow-burning crisis in Nigeria. It now seems that this view was too optimistic: the country is headed into a full-blown economic crisis," argued Capital Economics' Africa economist John Ashbourne.
  Nigeria continues to suffer from numerous economic headaches including lower oil prices and the government's controversial foreign-exchange and price-control policies (which analysts have more or less deemed a failure.)
  Notably, the biggest drop in growth was in Nigeria's manufacturing sector, which Ashbourne writes was crushed by the FX policies.
  "This is very bad news for Nigeria's government, which has justified the current FX system as a method of promoting non-oil industries," points out Ashbourne. "It is now clear that these policies have — as we'd long argued — made a bad situation worse."
  Still, the scariest thing about this latest GDP number is that it doesn't factor in any of the debilitating problems Nigeria has seen in the second quarter, including, but not limited to, the fuel shortage crisis and some of the oil production disruptions by the Niger Delta Avengers.
  In short, as Ashbourne concludes grimly, "the worst is yet to come."

  Is Tekper patriotic at all? Indeed, we have vagabonds in power. Mahama and the NDC are ready to sell Ghana to foreigners for their own gain. UBA was born out of patriotism. UBA used to be a British owned bank but the Federal Government of Nigeria nationalised it to become a fully owned bank of Nigeria because of patriotism. Tekper should have also been driven by patriotism to hand this juicy investment to Ghana Government owned banks, especially,when the motive is to invest in a Ghana Government treasury bills. In legal form, UBA is registered in Ghana but the substance of the Matter is that any profit made will be repatriated to Nigeria with lightening speed and Ghana will be back to square one notwithstanding the inflationary and exchange rate implications that will follow suit.

  There are well-meaning, genuinely democratic members of NPP who are committed to pushing Ghana into the right groove. But the activities of the violent remnants and their hirelings are the ones who are giving the Party no chance to live up to its ideals.
  
  If Akufo-Addo were to be regarded as the epitome of the NPP, then, surely, Dr. Percy would be absolutely right. The Akyem tin-god has been carrying himself around as if Ghana owes him the Presidency. Unfortunately, some others seem to regard him as some divinely ordained heir to our Presidency that he has been emboldened to lay claims of with his coercive schemes.
  
  The likes of Akufo-Addo in NPP have no room in their hearts and minds to truly live by democratic tenets. Hence, all the violence, and even fatal chaos, in the Party which these few, now, control with threats to all others.
  
  Until those remnants are gone, Ghana would continue to suffer the current waves of Political threats and tension.

  NPP cannot take the truth in the face. They have always been 1,2,_or 3 steps behind the NDC even when they were in power, and they will always be. To win elections in Ghana, you need some of the few floating voters left to vote for you to decide the election, and Nana Addo and his NPP have always lost in that direction.
  2008, Nana was not as loved as Atta Mills and in 2012, Nana lost again to Mahama because of this small number of floating voters who decide the elections just by voting for the candidate they love more.

He was appointment unto the board of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and look at the financial scandal that has engulfed the NSS. Just like Fiifi Kwetey, Okujeto Ablakwa, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Murtala Mohammed, Alhj Alidu - the one who insulted Yvonne Nelson as a prostitute because of the dumsor vigil, Samuel Nartey George, Kojo Adu Asare, Kojo Twum Boafo, Baba Jamal, Asiedu Nketsia, Agyenim Boateng etc, Dr Persey and co were given appointments because they were good at insulting opponents of the NDC. They were not appointment because of some excellence in management.
