Even the cassava factory collapsed before he left office.

AFRC/P/NDC have ruled for almost 27yrs whilst NPP has ruled for 8yrs so who shd carry more of the blame?Probably the unemployed do not have the skills of Selassie Ibrahim,Wayome,Rlg etc to get employed.

It is just as an unpaid teacher does not care if students in his/her year group fails.

Secondly, the institutions of ststae must be allowed to work. These would kill corruption.
Then we can go ahead to apply science and technology in the industrial settings. The people must be educated to accept their local values such as food and water. I live far away from home in a foreign land. Yet hardly a day goes buy that my wife never cooks a my traditional diet. What I mean is that, all that we need are in our country Gh. When we begin to see these, then the little we task from the people would be even more than enough to employ in both private and public sector. The base line is to eliminate the greed and corruption. I expect our university professors to lead the crusade.

Our country must be able to create jobs for the people. If our rate of job creation does not match the rate of churning out people into the labour market, we need to look at our population growth. I have a simple question. How do we as a nation capture the number of unemployed or is it just the figment of someone's imagination?. In the developed economies, unemployed people are requested to register as such and looking for jobs with a dedicated government agency. In the UK it is the remit of the Job Centre to register all unemployed and this is the data that is used to inform policy. When I was growing up in Ghana, we had to register at a local Labour Office as unemployed and looking for jobs and be issued with cards with our details. Do we have means of capturing the unemployed in the country? Not until we have developed mechanisms to capture this data, all the information as it is now is down to mere speculations.

Mahama continue to boast of infrastructural development and some chiefs are blinded by it. There is not a single government that has been in existence from Nkrumah to Mahama that has not undertaken a sort of development of the other - from roads, to schools, to hospitals, public buildings, bridges, flyover, beautification of the cities and what nots. So for Mahama to brag of these is not an achievement. They have not done any favor to the people of Ghana. They are voted to lead and these are some of the things they are supposed to undertake. So to me they have not done anything out of the ordinary. In the midst of all these, you have millions of not only graduates but other school leavers roaming the streets without jobs, health are in shambles, electricity bills surpassing rents, hospital beds is even through bribes,corruption all over the place, mismanaging the economy, no study jobs available in the country and many others. This is what we are talking about which is not an achievement not building roads and bridges. This is a government which is interested in doing everything possible to win election through the foul means but do not know how to govern. I think it is about time that Ghanaians show this inept government out of the door for a competent one to take over. Time will tell.

I find it fascinating when Mahama and his cohorts go around promising people jobs. Government's job is not to create jobs but to provide environment for job creation. NDC rather calls itself social democrat, therefore interested in social engineering. Redistribution of wealth, meaning create, loot, and share the fortunes of Ghana. The results is more corruption, higher taxes, higher interest rates, no power, crime and hostile business climate. This is why we will continue to have no opportunities for the youth. Every job created by governmrnt is ten jobs lost by the youth. Due to corruption, nepotism, tribalism, incompetence and simple theft. To create jobs is the equivalent to WEALTH CREATION. I invest, manage and insentivized by making profits. I will work harder to make more and cannot do it alone so, I have to employ more people. Those people also want to be better do work harder and create their products, the job multiplier enters and more jobs created.

The simple-minded idiots at Peacefmonline should put an end to foolish talk even if they feed ignorant readers. Why would the so-called experts know that unemployment role with go from 200,000 to 271,000 but would not know the exact number of unemployed graduates and or unemployed school dropouts? The government of Ghana does not have an agency where the unemployed applies for monthly stipend when out of work so how would any agency know exact figures about employment and unemployment numbers.

You do a disservice (I know the folks at peacefm are in the pocket of a political party) but that must not be grounds to take your reader to be just as ignorant as the authors of online articles. Should the methodology used to know the exact amount of the unemployed not suffice with knowing close approximation of Ghana's unemployed as it stand?

Massaging economic data and telling the nation everything is sunshine by the infamous IMF and our Finance Minister do nothing to food on the table for many Ghanaians. Go around the country and find out how many people cannot afford a daily me before the Ministry of Finance provide New York Cook Book figures to the IMF for them to issue their nonsensical periodic review reports implying everything is on course in Ghana. The things on course are energy crisis, delapilated schools, stinking cities and towns, rotten hospitals without medicine and proper healthcare, roads with pot holes and massive corruption. The IMF review meetings should be held in the rural areas and not in Accra. The whole team should drive on the dusty roads to a rural area with no adequate water suply and power, and that is where the review meeting should be held.
