This is a misplaced priority and clearly points to the notion of the Create-Loot-Share that some Ghanaians have about the NDC government.

I thought plans are underway to build a petroleum refinery in Takoradi in the western region?

Why do we need another petroleum refinery in Tema? What is the rational for this? We already have a refinery that we cannot even manage. There are times that we cannot even get crude oil to refine at TOR so why build another one to sit there like a white-elephant?

This doesn't make a single economic sense and I want my NDC government to convince me about the rational and economics that necessitated this agenda. Am not the least connived on this one.

Building another petroleum refinery in Tema is like building another hydroelectric dam in Akosombo, where we already have a hydroelectric dam that lacks sufficient water to run on at full capacity.

It would have made sense if TOR is producing above its present install-capacity, then we can justify why we need another refinery to take the pressure off the facility and expand production to meet market demands. To the contrary, TOR sometimes don't even have crude oil to refine and we forced to import already refined petroleum products. So where is the justification for another refinery?

If you have no petrol to put into your car tank, what then is the justification for buying another car that runs on petrol?
