Prof. Asiamah, the Land Economist, one time parliamentary candidate of one of the Nkrumahist offshoot party's in the 90's, a member of the Peace Council, a Methodist and a Men's Fellowship member of the Methodist Church, I think experienced a bout of selective amnesia.
It is this selectivity and bias that has actually strengthened the resolve of Ghanaians to fire John Dramani Mahama at the ballot box this November.
Where was the Peace Council when Nurses at Mampong Nursing Training College were being mercilessly whipped by after they demonstrated against John Mahama on his visit to that institution? Does Prof. Asiamah remember that incident? Did he think it was right for trainee nurses to whipped by John Mahama's goons in expressing their reservations about happenings concerning their training and the nursing profession in general all across the country? Today, those problems have strengthened the hands of nurses to fire John Mahama at the ballot box and not only that, they have resolved to demonstrate till just one of their problems which is unemployment, is addressed.
Specifically with respect to the limited registration exercise in the Ashanti region, did Prof. Asiamah hear of the violence, rampage, mayhem, chaos and brutalities the NDC sponsored gang of hoodlums had been meting out to not just EC officials and agents, but members of the opposition?
It is this selective amnesia and bias that has created the conditions that has resulted in the collapse of this country.
It is an allegation of assault and nobody knows the full facts of the case, except what has been put out there in a skewed manner, with the intention of causing disaffection seemingly for the Reg. Chairman and by extension the NPP to peddle a debunked narrative and construct. Until the discredited cloud of selective amnesia and bias is shed by elements such as the Peace Council, nobody would take that body seriously, as has been the case.
The fact remains John Dramani Mahama has failed and cannot lead Ghana and he is leaving office in November.

Ghana is full of people who are politically blind that they cannot see nor differentiate between what is generally and morally acceptable and unacceptable. Where is the twisting of facts? Is it not true nurses were beaten at Mampong when John Mahama went there and they demonstrated against him? Where was the Peace Council? Is it not true NDC hoodlums have been unleashing violence and mayhem on the heads of anybody in their field of view at registration centres? Where has the Peace Council been in Ashanti region? It is wrong to resort to insults and refer to others as animals when confronted with the facts. It shows a weakness and an inability to make intelligent arguments in a discourse based on the facts. And I am saying the selective amnesia and the biases exhibited by the Peace Council creates a situation where nobody takes that body seriously as has been the case.

I remember whilst schooling in Manchester, Opuni Asiamah was also pursuing his masters at Birmingham. He would call our home and my room-mate's wife would answer the phone and call his first name. We were all on first name calling but Asiamah would insist he is addressed as "Mr.". He was then doing his masters. Then he he went through his PhD, and everyone continued addressing him as "Mr. Asiamah. Indeed, we all came back to Ghana and he was appointed as a deputy secretary of Education by the (P)NDC - yes deputy secretary in the (P)NDC! We met one day at the Accra sports stadium and yours truly trying to revive old school jokes called Dr. Asiamah Mr. Asiamah. Come see! Asiamah went into tantrums threatening to have his police guards arrest yours truly if I dared call him "Mr. Asiamah again. "Don't you know I am a deputy secretary of education"? It took the intervention of other spectators to calm him down. We only had the chance to patch up at an event for (K)NUST Alumnae where he paid for my event tee-shirt. So it could be true that he is biased in favor of the NDC. He has benefited from the (P)NDC
