I beg to ask about such compact security surveillance, what would cause someone to break into NMC?
I guess some 3 CCTV could do for such a facility

There is a big problem in the health sector because jobs there are basically permanent and any means to alter procedures leads to agitations. Go to Korle bu where the CEO wants to structure and build a lon term positive culture and the senior staff do not want a change and always accusing management without any substanve of proof. They go to radio stations to make allegations without figures and they want the public to support them. System of employment to some of these sectors must be based on agency recruitment so that they cannot impose any negative cultures to influence the young up coming ones.

Also, i think the N&MC needs the CCTV,it is a facility all nurses death and alive can retrieve their documents. God forbid assuming someone with an evil mind wants to cause mayhem the fellow can be traced. There are more reason a CCTV is need in every establishment than the pedestrain argument that only banks need CCTV,come to think of it don't banks keep their monies in bullet and fire proof safes yet they have CCTVs. Has the registrar not changed the face of nursing and widwifery council in ghana? Look at the cost incurred when the council was seated at birth and death which was closer to the sea,the cost of maintenance and replacement eg air conditions were replaced every four months, corrosion of things etc.
We should appreciate good works and stop this pull him down attitude. The man has been able to put solar panels in place to cut down the cost of electricity, establish archive office for storage of all nurses file and other document.
Lazy journalism should have given us more information so we could discuss the issues better. ARISE MOTHER GHANA

its obvious from the way you write that you are staff of the nursing and midwifery council Mr. Thomas. Can you produce the purchase document for the so called air conditioners that were purchased every four month? if you have any useful information please share it. how many offices did they have at the beach side? How many rooms had their air conditioners changed every four months? can you stand by these claims with proof if you are called to do so? Did those purchases go through tender? can you call any of those companies who deal in CCTV installation to find out how much it would cost to install same gadgets on the same premises? can you mention the number of good things the Registrar has done and changed in nursing? have you gone round to ask the real opinion of the nurses? the issuing of certificates to nurses with soo much inconsistencies. how new curriculum is used to access students who have been in training with the old curriculum and now they are exiting with the new one? and anyway what is your interest in defending the issue? The issue is that procurement process had been violated. we want to move this nation ahead, that should be the concern for all well meaning Ghanaians. please go to the man if you know him and ask him to come out and defend himself. good afternoon.

In as much as it important for the citizenry to act and demand accountability from public office holders , it is important for all well meaning Ghanaian to cross check the facts before it put out there. Just thinking aloud. I believe that a little due diligence on the story from the side of the Registrar and management would have helped us all. As it stands it is a bit lopsided.
The question of the need for surveillance cameras in any public premises cannot be over emphasized.Especially an institution like the Nursing Council and Midwifery putting its mandate and functions into perceptive. |

At least you need to talk to the other side before you put your story out.
Don't we always hear and read "they refused to comment"? At least this will have proved that the writer made an effort.

This is evidence based publication. Now that the evidence gas been intercepted, it would not be difficult to probe further to unravel the truth and rid the organization of this canker. I hope the chief of staff and the secret minister would act swiftly on this issue? It's a great relief to see that finally Ghanaians are taking issue up to address them and save the last resources that is left for the country. The nursing and midwifery council is not a personal property of any individual but a state organization for that matter. The council had been in existence for about forty six years and the had bit been any CCTV on the premises for all these years. If now the council have grown to the point where CCTV is needed, why is there a rush in breaching the down procedure in procuring it? What necessitated the rush into the procurement? Is it that some people had I'll motive to milk the organization in the name of the CCTV installation? What advisory role did management team play? Did the advise the Registrar? Or did they sit unconcerned? How could such blander be allowed to occur unnoticed. Or does this revelation mark the opening of the Pandora box? The worms that have been hiding in the can for all these years are been exposed with this article. State agencies like the EOCO and BNI and the government chief of staff should initiate enquiry into the case. A thorough and strict audit should be conducted on the Nursing and Midwifery Council from the date the current Registrar assumed office to date. This I believe would either clear his name or expose him even further. And the law would take its natural course. Those who matter in this issue should be brought to answer and help find the truth. Class FM good work done. More of this is needed to rid the country of corruption which has now become a canker in Ghana today. Fear not. Keep up the good work Class FM.
