Validation should not necessarily require the electorate to travel/visit their registration centers but any nearby validation center to be validated electronically. This will enable electorate turn out for the validation at n ...

I believe that it sensible and practicable to do this given the current bloated voters register. If ample time is given say 4-6 weeks for the exercise and sufficient
awareness is created by way of widespread advertisement people will become aware of it and people will plan their travels in order not to miss out. Therefore unless Mr Ampofo believes that the ghost names and foreign name is to their advantage that is why he arguing against this simple exercise

You can only win an election at the polling station when the results is counted and win selected. All political parties should have offices in all districts or it is not a political party.

People dont win elections by not get voters. NPP is only saying you should take out names of people who shouldnt be voting. It can be the dead people, people who didnt use their votes the last time and add the names of those up to voting age.
It is not a big deal. If EC say they have done it, NPP will be happy with it. NPP know now you can not win elections in court. They will get representatives like any other party to the polling stations.
Ofusu Ampofo and John Mahama government should be thinking and sleepless to see how many Ghanaians dont have a shop to go to. They cant get a book,pencil etc to buy in a shop by them.
Economy is distribution and NDC government failed Ghanaians in the distribution of the wealth of the country. They may use cement and tar on our land but they failed to make us live comfortable.

down protocol. The captain of the home team comes up with a jaundiced excuse that because of time, the match should go ahead and be played.
This may sum up, what Ofosu Ampofu, the Ndc, in cahoot with the EC, are on to. What will be lost, if a proper accounting is done to the voters register, which the Ndc claims, contains about twenty thousand bloated names in the Ashanti Region? The Ndc is the pillion passenger of the EC, they plan and arrive at the same conclusion all the time. For once, the EC should conduct the validation exercise, as espoused by its own hand picked committee, to shame the NPP. I hope, the Ndc will not dodge this one, as it has done successfully, with the demand for a New Voters Register

John Mahama with a cabinet of close to ninety men and women, who are paid and housed at the expense of the nation. The MCEs and DCEs and a plethora of government political functionaries, across the country. Also, with a huge army with weapons of destruction, the police, BNI, Fire Service and all you can think of, are at the beck and call of President Mahama. With these assortments available, President Mahama cannot deal with these only two issues: Fulani tribesmen and galamsey operators. Nana Addo does not collect taxes from the citizens, has no police and army. Each of the two person's situation is not the same. But the difference however, is pronounced. We can tell who of the two failed to use resources that have been put into his hands.

It is not any mysterious exercise. Prof. Jega in the recent Nigeria elections employed voter validation and it was a very smooth process.
And since Ofosu Ampofo and his NDC party and govt claim, there are Ghanaians "coming from afar" to come and vote, it would be perfect, every Ghanaian is validated to make sure you are on the voters register after it has been cleaned thoroughly of foreigners, minors, and every ineligible registrant on the discredited register, then before you vote, you are validated finally.
There shouldn't be another album. The voter ID card should be such that if you have been validated it should be able to capture that.
Some form of validation has been going on with our elections since 1992. It is not new and it will be done.

All peace loving Ghanaians should resist the NDC machinations intrigues and subterfuge to thwart the will of Ghanaians to secure a clean and credible voters register for our November 2016 elections. Folks at the onset of this debate,the NPP and like minded political parties called for and argued in favour of compilation of a new voters register whilst John Mahama and his NDC vociferously called for cleaning up the questionable unacceptable register. Then came in the EC self appointed five ''wise men " which concluded and recommended in its report that the dangerously bloated and unworkable existing register must be cleansed through validation. But now both the EC and the NDC have developed cold feet and do not want to execute exactly what the NDC had called for. The NDC again is indulging in semantics to shift the goal post. What is the NDC afraid of except to maintain the corrupt register to its self advantage? Of course no qualified Ghanaian citizen should loose his or her rights to vote. However in the interest and the sanity and the peace of our body politic, disqualified voters (citizens and non citizens) whose names and identities remain on the existing voters roll must be expunged from it. And the way to do that as recommended by the Crabbe committee is through validation. The EC must engage all stakeholders and the political parties to figure out the methodology and the process to be adopted now to achieve that goal. The EC must clean the register before it embarks on to open the suspect register for its limited registration. There is enough precious time to deliver to safeguard our peace
