Ghana has had very good players over the years. Every generation and every decade has produced very good players of some sort. There's not a single person in Ghana today that saw the qualities in each player from the gold coast era till date. The level of soccer some years back can not be compared to the level today. As such, it'll make more sense to talk about best within each decade or generation than ALL TIME.
FIFA tried it and it didn't go down well with many a soccer fan. While FIFA chose Pele as the best player of the century, soccer fans opted for Maradonna. This ended up creating an unecessary feud between them. How the hell do I agree CK Gyamfi is Ghana's best when I never saw him play? How can I say Robert Mensah was Ghana's best keeper ever without knowing how he kept the post? I'll chose Olele over Robert Mensah, how about that? Lol

Any objective mind would see right away that each of the players listed above was a household name not only in Ghana, but also on the African continent. So whoever came up with that list under discussion should pull it out as it fails miserably to describe who the best is in Ghana. Maybe in Togo but certainly not in Ghana!

We have names like Aggrey Fynn, C.K Gyamfi, Baba Yara, Kwame Appiah, Ibrahim Sunday, Osei Kofi and many more who featured very well in the 60. The 70's also saw the fame and the prowess of Ahmed Polo, Abedis and the rest. To single out Muntari, who has tantrums like a baby as the best of all time is a misnomer.

I would rather the writer had concentrate on the past 2 decades because Ghana have had very fine footballers since independence. It was rather unfortunate that during those days we did not have the influence of television as we have now and the issue of professionalism i.e. playing abroad was uncommon. That Ibrahim Sunday, Robert Mensah, Jones Attuquaifio, Osei Kofi, Mohamed Ahmed Polo, Abedi Pele, Abdul Razak just to mention a few. They might not have made the kind of money the current generations are making however, Osei Kofi and Ahmed Polo could be compared to any player in the world such as Messi and Christiano Ronaldo.

Even the old ones had mental block. I played with Osei Kofi and Amusa Gbadamoshi Ghana's Pele). Then came Polo. These 3 were really exceptional dribblers. Amusa could dribble, shoot and score before anybody could notice. When it happens the journalist will write- " he scored in the typical Amusa fashion". If you ask Abedi he will tell you that he cannot come anywhere near these three. Truly extrardinally. Has everybody disenfranchised our real Pele - Amusa Gbadamoshi. He is still alive. Baba Yara, james Adjei, Frank Odoi VC10, Salami, Adolf Armah etc were all dribblers. But the previous three{ Osei Kofi, Amusa and Polo} stand out as magicians.
