President Mahama has chastised the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for not selecting a competent northerner as its flagbearer.

Citing an example of former Vice President Ahaji Aliu Mahama, President Mahama accused the NPP for paying little attention to northerners.

According to him, the NPP has shown in the past that it has very little respect for northerners and therefore cannot be trusted.

The President made the remarks in Tongo when he resumed his camping tour of the Upper East region after suspending it for three days to attend to the victims of the Melcom disaster in Accra.

He said “our brother Aliu Mahama was Vice President for 8 years. I was Vice President for 3 and half years. For almost 12 years, we have tasted Vice Presidency. It’s no longer exciting. It’s no longer what we want.”

He said if the NPP wants votes from the northern part of the country, then they should put up Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as their flagbearer to face-off with him.

“They want to win here, they should put him in number one and let two of us contest and then they will get something from here,” the president said.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has described the defeat of the republicans in the US elections as a good omen for the ruling NDC and an indication that similar thing will be replicated in Ghana in the upcoming elections.

According to him, anytime the democrat party win an election in the US, the NDC also wins in Ghana, making reference to the 2008 elections.

He said: “In 2008 polls in the USA, Obama won by chasing the elephant into the bush and later the NDC also chased the elephant into the bush in Ghana, and just this week, Obama has again chased the elephant into the bush, which will be replicated in Ghana in December.”

He said the performance of the NDC government in the last four years is enough evidence to encourage more Ghanaians to vote massively for the party in the forthcoming elections.

President Mahama said inspite of the increase in wage bills as a result of the implementation of the single spine salary structure, government is still economically solid to execute more development projects in the phase two of the Better Ghana Agenda.

Currently, if you ask any prominent member of the NPP their position on education, health, infrastructure, agricculture, transport, the answer is zero, yet all they do is criticize and peddle falsehood.
This just goes to affirm Dr Nyaho Tamakloe's of the NPP's assertion that the NPP has no message for Ghanaians.

Nevertheless, how can you described and individual (Mahama) who has completed the 147km sawla-fufulso road, inaugurated the newly built ultra modern Shai-Doku District hospital in Dodowa, brought an end to energy crisis in the short space of one year as incompetent?
Please give us a break.
For the records, JDM will retire Nana Addo come NOV 7 and kindly advise Dr bawumia to stop churning out those vague and inconclusive statements because the total debt stock of Ghana, as it stands today from independence, is $24 billion and not $37 billion.

The intellectual dishonesty the NPP keeps engaging in will in no way help the fortunes of their party because President Mahama will be given the nod to rule this country again since he has churned out good policies and his message of #ChangingLives and #TransformingGhana resonates with the people.

Discerning Ghanaians also know that till date the total debt of Ghana, as it stands today from independence, is $24 billion. The 2015 budget statement is prove is the most credible reference point in all these matters and I believe all and sundry should try and get a copy because everything happening in this country concerns us all.

Nonetheless, We cannot discount the fact that the ruling government is equitably distributing the wealth of this country and this is in the full glare of the public such as the completion of the 147km sawla-fufulso road, 123 Community Day Senior High Schools across the country which will provide space for the admission of about 400,000 additional students who would have been out of school.
In essence, change is already happening under President Mahama

However,the total debt stock of Ghana, as it stands today from independence, is $24 billion and you can cross check from the 2015 budget statement which was read in parliament in the presence of both the minority and the majority MPs.

But in all humility, hurling insults at the president doesn't speak well of us as a people. Our norms and cultures teaches us that we must always respect the elderly. Though times are changing, I believe we must rather learn to criticize constructively for education still remains the surest path to victory over ignorance and inequality.

The results; between January 2013 and June 2015, USD$ 817.5 million invested in the Free Zones by 69 newly registered companies.
It is obvious President Mahama is still the best person to lead this country on the right path.

Moreover, we must commend the Dr Whyte for restructuring the National Service scheme (NSS) which to a large extent has saved the country over 70 million Ghana cedis. This is the change president Mahama keeps echoing and not the thievery and the procurement politics the NPP engages in.

The NPP was in power for 8 years and knew about the rot happening in there yet never did anything about. This the more reason why we will not give them the nod to wreck this country again.

I wish to serve notice that I am bank on the platform after some absence of month on it.The NDC has been left off the hook by my absence but I have been following the issues and developments in the country.
My rejoining the platform is to nail the final blow to the NDC who has destined to lose the 2016 election inspite of their feverish attempt to gain political advantage from the bloated electoral register. This will not succeed because I want assure them that there are very critical discussions in the pipeline to expose the EC.
I have something to discuss on the State of the Nation Adrress by the President, though belated but very insightful.
PRESIDENT MAHAMA PRESENTED A LOPSIDED STATE OF NATION
The President Mahama led-administration has done this nation lot of disservice by not telling the world especially Ghanaians the true state of our country through his lopsided account of the state of Ghana. I was very much disappointed and any candid observer will notice that it was deliberate to throw dust into the eyes of all of us and to project his government doing so well. The President was not true to himself let alone trueful to the people of Ghana.
The President chose the occasion to do their usual propaganda by using the report in their so called Green Book. And in his account, he and his government padded the information by giving reports that were not wholly true or did not exist at all. They avoided information which put his government in bad light but it is important to note that the state of the nation include all those failures as well.
For every evidence provided in their so called evidence based approach there are also countless evidence of the negative side also. What is the ratio of his achievement in those areas he provided the evidence to the number who are wallowing in those areas? The people who they put in the gallery as evidence are Ghanaians though, how were these people selected among the many in the same situationacross the country.
The President and his government should stop boasting about physical projects they have brought into being. The increase in the rates of the existing taxes and levies that predated him, the introduction of new taxes and levies by his government provide him the base to do those projects. His government is also known to have engaged in the largest borrowing in the history of this country. He did not turn sand into money which is a feat he can boast of. If all the Presidents before him borrowed recklessly as he is doing, one does not know where this country will be now especially with our debt sustainability. These Presidents were careful and diligent. His appetite for heavy borrowing has always been motivated by corruption; to provide them the opportunity to stack money into their private accounts. Corruption has enabled most of his staffers to make money to further pursue their political ambitions to become MPs.
The President is saying they have provided seasonal jobs in the construction of roads, hospitals and schools. How many skill jobs are created in the construction sector? The skill jobs in the hospitals and schools are not enough to cover the very high levels of unemployment bedeviling this country. If this is his approach to resolving the unemployment in the country then he is not qualified to continue as the president going forward into 2017. It is the private sector like the banks, manufacturing sector, agriculture, commerceetc which is to provide jobs for the youth. Those jobs created by the youth employment programs are for party faithfuls and not every Ghanaian. The private sector should lead in the provision of jobs for the youth and all those unemployed like me.

The President and his government are proud for converting polytechnics into universities but are not interested in providing the congenial environment for these graduates to work after school. Education is only a means to an end.
The President read History and Communication; he isbest fit for the classroom to teach going by the notion in the eighties about those who studied courses like History. He is a president today because opportunities have been expanded by those who preceded him as president. Is he telling all graduates to go into the educational and health sectors where his government has provided the infrastructure per their claim?
Economists have developed parameters which measure how well an economy is doing. One can look at inflation rate, interest rate, exchange rateetc.and these are very important. All the projects, policies and programs are expected to feed into these parameters and as long as their impacts have not reflected significantly in these parameters, the government has failed. The President, with all apologies to the medical profession, is like a doctor who has been prescribing the wrong medication to his patients who will one day die of their ailments. The President and government communicators are always pointing to the Green book, which tome is meaningless as long as the difficulties the country is facing persist. The government claims they have provided more projects than any government in the history of this country. Granted this is true, the conditions of living in those times were not so bad as we find ourselves today.
There are problems with housing, transportation, quality of education, agriculture, quality of power supply, cost of living, the quality of health, mismanagement and corruption among others. These affect the ordinary man on the street who they claim their social democratic credential care for. Most of the interventions which target the poor and the vulnerable have been introduced by the NPP which the NDC claims are anti poor. These interventions were introduced by the NPP when this country did not have oil. NDC are benefiting from oil money today and can only increase allocation to these areas which is always in arrears. How many new pro poor interventions have the NDC brought on board? If the NPP had not introduced the Single Spine Salary Pay, workers would have lived under more challenged economic conditions today under President Mahama who is not able to even pay teachers allowance. It is not the name you call yourself which matters but what you are able to do which is critical.
Let me use this platform to advise the minority parties to pitch camp in the rural areas and to explain the issues to the rural folks, breaking them down to the level they can appreciate. They should not assume because the opponent they are dealing with are very very good in propaganda and lies. A well educated people will take the right decision. If they ignore this piece of advice they will regret later.
Even though I am an Nkrumaist, I think the CPP which is the party I prefer is not ready to assume political power. For this reason I want to use this opportunity to advise the NPP that I am solidly behind them and will assist them to kick out the incompetent NDC from power. I have not started my game yet but just warming up.
The NPP and all the minority parties should keep their eyes on the election issues because that is the last resort for AsieduNketiah and the NDC to steal the elections.
I have observed that government and NDC officials especially the Minister of Communications are always on their ears to make input into programs. The NDC has the specialization for propaganda but former President Kufour was able to devise an effective strategy by using two gentlemen by namesYahaya and Ibrahim to match them. Abdul Malik KwakuBaako also did a yeoman’s job for candidate Kufour’s presidency. I want to suggest to Nana AkufoAddo’s team to consider this approach which I believe will assist to explain the issues to our less informed relatives and friends.
Recently, theissue of the right quantum of the National Debt has been talked about. The President comes out to portray the National Debt, different from what has been put out by Dr. Bawumia. Following this many have sought to explain it exposing their ignorance. One such person was the host of Good Morning Ghana.
I will like to use imaginary figures to explain what DrBawuah sought to put out as the National Debt. This will provide better clarity than the long English spoken on the issue. Governance we all agree is a continuous process. The borrowings of previous governments have to be paid by the current government. The debts incurred by the current government also have to be paid by future governments after him.
Assuming President Mahama came into office to inherit total National Debt of GHS18billion and he has paid GHS12billion, one expects the total Debt of the country to go down to GHS 6billion without addition. Now if the total debt is showing GHS 36billion, it means President Mahama has borrowed GHS 30billion. The total borrowings of President Mahama can easily be determined by aggregating all his borrowings since assuming office. The National Debt as at any date cannot be the borrowings of President Mahama as he sought to suggest.
National debts can be computed in USD or local currency, but we should know that We don’t print USD because it is not our national currency. We get USD from our exports, grants, loans among others. The higher the exchange rate, the smaller the National Debt in USD which is misleading. Higher exchange rate has adverse economic consequence than lower exchange rates even though it gives smaller amount of National Debt. The picture is clearer to compute our National Debt in the local currency.
I wish to know what is the source of funding for the LordinaMahama Foundation which is seriously assisting the President by distributing various items across the country.

By the way which alternatives are they looking for again? Isn't it obviously true that NDC has destroyed every initiatives/policies initiated by NPP! School Feeding, Free SHS, NHIS, Single Spine Salary and even the National Service headed by he (Kpessa) which was political neutral has been flagged as an NDC World Bank for still money. Is a shame to be hearing this shameful question from NDC.
