We had eight years of NPP government and times were certainly better for us than we have found ourselves in under the seven years of GYEEDA,SUBAH,SADA,NSS and least of all Woyome stealling from us a whopping fifty one million.
The NDC and its head corruptible Mahama must give way to the NPP.
At least if I am poor but the sacrifice is giving all children in Ghana some free education then my sacrifice is worth it.

The South African government will leave Ghanaian authorities to deal with three of their citizens arrested for unlawful training and false declaration in the country.

The Media Liaison Director in-charge of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Nelson Kgwete says the case is now a criminal one, as such, they will allow the Ghanaian authorities to continue with the criminal process.

The three who were brought in by the opposition New Patriotic Party are retired South African Police Officers and were arrested at Agona Duakwa in the Central Region for allegedly engaging in activities that threaten the nation’s security. They were arraigned on Thursday.

Speaking to exclusively to Citi News, the of Media Liaison Director in-charge at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Nelson Kgwete said the South African government will “leave the Ghanaian Authorities to handle the case because it is a criminal case.”

“The process is in the hands of the Ghanaian police, it is not a diplomatic issue, and so we have to leave them to follow through with their processes. The Ghanaian Police are investigating criminalities. The three are not part of our government, and so it cannot be treated as a diplomatic case. If they are charged and jailed, we are not going to initiate any process because the process is in the hands of Ghanaian authorities and they should be subjected to Ghanaian laws.”

Who draw or sign these bail agreement with court on behave of these three alleged men? I bet their lawyer did all this. Therefore, why the BNI whisk these men straight the home sureties as you are alleging but not their lawyer.

This BNI is a paramilitary organ of the NDC government masquerading as an investigative body. Like the government from which it takes instructions, the members use brawns instead of brains. They have no respect for the law. They fabricate evidence under the directions of NDC. Upon what criteria did the South African embassy declare this case as criminal? This is gross abdication of ambassadorial duties by South African embassy to be the judge and jury of the case based on the complete misinformation from BNI. Our democracy depends on the rule of law and these rogues at BNI should be cut to size in court. No one, not even the president is above the law, and these renegade NDC investigators should never be allowed to cower the nation into submission like a one-party state.

She could not say the suspects and their passports should be left at the court registry while they go to check the sureties, then complete the bail processes. Their lawyer is also wrong to say as much as the suspects are brought to court they surrender their freedom to the court. It depends on the judge's end of the day statements.

The court registry does not have security cage to keep and protect the suspects while BNI and the lawyer leave to go and inspect the properties. At that time the suspects had not been placed in legal custody of anyone in particular. If they returned from the inspections to find out that the suspects were gone, BNI would still be responsible for bringing them back. The suspects would be on some island well taken care of and NPP would clean BNI like dirty shaggy carpet.

I think the reporter did not report the exact statement the judge made because it is strange for a judge to make such reckless arrangement.

There is nowhere in the world that the these three people would've been granted bail in the circumstances even if they were school boys. I'm in the US now but I've also lived in the UK before and I've been in this Security business for over 30 years after retiring as an officer in the the army. I also hold a Master's Degree in Security Management from the University of Leicester. I'm therefore acquainted with the English law. The State has always been given the benefit of doubt in such cases and bail has always been denied especially as South Africa has been the haven from which mercenaries have been hired to destabilize African countries. The judge erred in this case so don't let your partisanship cloud your your judgement. Ghana is doing better even by your UK standards. Here in the US, let them be detained at the Manhattan Detention Center in New York and see if they won't plead guilty at their next court appearance.

It recalls to mind when Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, was arrested on the flimsy excuse that he had caused “fear and panic” with his misconstrued “tribalistic” statement that “threatened national security” under late President Atta Mills.
For this arrest, ex-President Kufuor appealed to late President Atta Mills to use his presidential powers to set Mr. Kennedy Agyapong free for the sake of peace, and described the action of the police as akin to “using a sledge hammer to kill a fly.” However, this statement by ex-President Kufuor did not go down well with the then Vice-President of Ghana, Mr. John Mahama. Within a few days, the then Vice-President is alleged to have responded that his party would not hesitate employing the use of “bulldozers to kill flies, if any fly tried to disturb the peace of this country.”
In the above-referenced article, the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) is reported to have caused the arrest of three South African former police officers in the Central Region for allegedly engaging in acts that threaten the country’s security. The three, 54-year-old Major Ahmed Shaik Hazis (Rtd.), 39-year–old WO/ Denver Dwayhe Naidu (Rtd.) and 45-year-old Captain Mlungiseleli Jokani (Rtd.), were picked up on Sunday March 20, 2016 at El Capitano Hotel in Agona Dunkwa in the Central Region. According to the report, the three were engaged in training 15 young men in various military drills, including unarmed combat, weapon handling, VIP protection techniques, and rapid response maneuvers.
What is interesting is the alleged disclosure that the leader of the group, Hazis, disclosed to BNI officials that they were brought into the country by one Capt. Koda, head of security detail for NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, and that Hazis was part of Nana Akufo-Addo’s security detail during the 2012 elections but left the country soon after. A deputy director of communications of the NPP, Perry Okudzeto, set the record straight by noting that the South African nationals were training the security men strictly for “crowd control” and not for “military tactics,” and they “had license to operate” as such.
After all, what individual of right mind would want to train 15 Ghanaians to engage in what in Ghana? As home-trained terrorists, when we have already imported real terrorists into the country that is creating panic in the people, yet being made to pale into insignificance?
In the face of all these, a deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Koku Anyidoho, was quick to spin this story as NPP’s “desperation for power” and “importing mercenaries to destabilize the country,” seizing upon every concocted opportunity to draw the name of Nana Akufo-Addo into everything just because he is known to be of incorruptible character.
“Destabilize the country” for what? The NDC leadership has time and time again employed crass and “outdated revolutionary tactics” to divert the substances of issues. When they clearly have no message for the citizenry after having run the Ghanaian economy aground, and forcing people to live under harsh economic times, they resort to a track record of what they do best--blowing issues out of proportion, irrelevancy, and propaganda.
Surprisingly, the NDC leadership tends to assume that Ghanaians lack the ability to discern the truth. Who is interested in comprehensive report of the operations of Superlock Technologies Limited, a company mentioned in the arrest report that was engaged by Afari Gyan’s Electoral Commission (EC) that transmitted and collated results to the EC during the 2012 general elections? People are rather interested in far more important issues such as US$37 billion in revenue under the NDC government, of which only US$7 billion is accounted for in public projects in Ghana. It is on such issues that discerning Ghanaians are going to vote and take their destiny into their own hands.
And given what is happening in Nigeria now with the advent of the anti-corruption crusader, President Buhari, which has opened the way for Nigeria to receive US$200 billion of its looted money stashed away by Nigerian public officials in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), the reason cannot be far-fetched as to why the Nigerian counterparts of corrupt Ghanaian public officials are agitating and panicking: they sense a similar fate awaiting them should the now awakened Ghanaian electorate vote the NDC out of power in the 2016 elections, a change that seems inevitable in Ghana.
It is change that will supplant greed in governance by a few with sharing in governance with all citizens. It is change that results in jobs and not jolts in the economy; change that results in making electricity power a constant norm, not a variable norm; change that results in classrooms under roofs and tiles, not under trees and dirt; change that results in streets paved with blocks and asphalt, not patched with potholes and mud; and change that results in waxing the honor in public service, not waning the honor in public service.
Fifty-nine good years of nationhood, and we really have nothing to show for it. Ghana was 8 years old when Singapore had its political independence in 1965. Today, the success story of Singapore is told to the chagrin of Ghana. At independence, Ghana was richer than Argentina, Brazil, Malaysia or Singapore. Today, these countries’ success stories are told to the chagrin of Ghana.
Isn’t it about time that we moved away from the infantile partisan politics to the promised land of matured politics of true nation building? Why do we continue to be poor amidst plentiful natural resources? Corruption is a prime suspect. We are neck deep in corruption, which bedevil our socio-economic progress, because of leadership deficit. We need leaders with vision and commitment to build the capacity of the African to solve Africa’s problems.
Instead, we have leadership today that is master at propaganda and lies; leadership that can twist the story of a hungry snake that snatches a fish from the pond for meals, into a “Good Samaritan” snake that saves a helpless fish from drowning. And that is what the NDC is good at.

You see you can always play tricks. The court has given them bail. BNI you don't like it , fine. Whilst the bail order is being satisfied, you can let the police prepare a different charge sheet and arrest them again immediately they are set free on bail. You send them to court to ask remand whilst you investigate the new charges. Later because the charges are not solid the court would release them. You would have achieved your objective of detaining them without disrespecting the court order or creating anxiety in the system.
But people do not think when they have power. They always forget that the base of their power is the masses. If the masses withdraw your authority you lose your power and become an ordinary man.
This silly behaviour can cause them their jobs if Akuffo Addo should win. On the flip side it can earn them promotion. Non of the above is good . For if you do the right thing no one will sack you and you might not be promoted out of turn but you keep your job and honour and be promoted as you should.

First, the NPP hasn't been honest on this issue. Secondly, the judge erred. Laws don't cover any contingency and if the issue isn't on the law books, the courts have followed custom and best practices and if the security of the state is at stake, the State always gets the benefit of the doubt and bail has always been denied. It happens here even in the US. You don't bring in foreigners to train ANYBODY in this type of security operations in any country without going through the necessary protocols especially when South Africa has been the haven from which mercenaries have in the past been recruited by certain countries and individuals in collusion with local quislings to overthrow governments in "unfriendly" African countries. It also shows the caliber of persons we appoint into judgeship positions.

Ghana should remember the NORBISTOR affair in which during the PNDC era, a Western intelligence agency backed by its government recruited three South African mercenaries and in collusion with JH Mensah and co, bought tons of weapons and ammunition from certain South American countries in a plan to overthrow the government. A ship carrying the weapons, ammunition, other equipment and the mercenaries was supposed to dock offshore between Ada and Accra where the items would've been brought ashore by ordinary fishing vessels and distributed among the hundred or so soldiers they had counted on for the putsch. We somehow got to know the operation and were lying in wait for them when these instruments of death and their paymasters developed cold feet and called the operation off after learning that we had gotten hold of the details and were prepared to snuff the life out of it. That government and its intelligence agency of course denied the operation and abandoned its surrogates even before informing them about the cancellation of the operation. It's this same group of family and friends who are at it again. It's not by accident that this same group of people are the descendants of the bomb throwers during Kwame Nkrumah's time. The mistake the PNDC made was not allowing us to arrest and "deal with" even the families and associates of those involved as is done in other countries. Hence this problem. You can't be too ruthless for the peace and security of the state.

The way the NPP has gone about the issue and with my experience in security for over thirty years, I can assure you that these three people are MERCENARIES WHO MAY HAVE BEEN BROUGHT IN AS ADVANCED PARTY OF A LARGER FORCE OR TO TRAIN GHANAIANS TO CAUSE MAYHEM BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER THE ELECTIONS. Whatever the reason, it couldn’t have been in the interest of Ghana.Contrary to what NPP would make us believe,THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM IN THE SECURITY OF ANY EX-SOUTH AFRICAN PRESIDENT.

To those clueless but kind-hearted Ghanaians who worry about the treatment of these three South Africans, they should rest assured that these miscreants knew what would happen to them in any country if anything should go wrong. Our treatment has been soft so far. They should come and spend time here in New York Manhattan Detention Center under the circumstances they've been arrested and see if they wouldn't plead guilty immediately!

The government, without any fear, should take the necessary steps to remove this canker once and for all. No price is too heavy to pay for the peace in the country.

I personally served in the military with some of the NPP adherents who may be behind this issue including Kofi Koda, the so-called security capo of Akuffo-Addo's. They're cowards who have the propensity of fomenting trouble, collecting their pay-outs and running away for others to bear the brunt of any repercussions. It's the same Kofi Koda who robbed certain Ghanaians of monies and was subsequently jailed by the AFRC in 1979 only to escape from the Usher Fort and abscond to the UK with the help of some "insiders." I know when the screws are tightened on them, they'll squeal like pigs and sing like canaries.
