The government is more interested in chopping money from high airline fuel prices than to create wealth for the average ghanaian. They are not interested in making accra a hub to west africa for air travel and all the spin off business that would come with it. The elite, and some in government, want to make their money on the high prices.
this is the same with electricity prices. Why would a business come to ghana when ECG rates are significantly higher than in the west. (DON"T tell me it's cheaper than our neighbours. Ghana is in competition with the world for foreign investment.)

MAHAMA and his team have no clue on the dynamics of business. Just doing anything that they think is doable. Maybe everything has to collapse First before they realize it.

Ghana is just full of coat wearers who have been given big names by dead goat and they are messing up the economy. Tekper and co thinks that increasing taxes especially on fuel will bring more revenue. However, what the blokeheads don't tell them is that if the prices are too high, motorists will decide to use trotros and other passenger vehicles. They increase the price, prices go high in the country but in the long run they get the same revenue. The airlines have a choice unlike the Ghanaian motorists so they will not come. Meanwhile the air fares are high for the Ghanaian passengers, but the revenue generated by the few airlines for government remains the same. They have created HARDSHIP ECONOMY!!!. Unfortunately Ayigbe and pepefuo, who have entrenched mind cannot see the harm the government is causing them. Not every human being can be a leader, and dead goat is the number one!!

When would these journalists widen their knowledge by getting well informed about issues instead of indulging in chop-bar logic?!? By the way, do these journalists know where these airlines tank their aircrafts ?!?

The government actually believes that airline money - belongs to the government and not the owners/investors in the company.
Ghana's federal government is financially inept, ethically corrupt and culturally myopic.
