How do you come by the monies to pay? You claim we are owing so much, that said we have debt services and other commitments that require attention so why do we have to pay tuition and in addition allowances?

Dr. Bawumia pointed out that the NDC had increased Ghana’s debt in seven years by GHC90 billion, from GHC9.5 billion at the end of 2009 to some GHC99 billion currently; an equivalent of some 37 billion dollars at the time of borrowing.

“First, If you sum the cost of all the loan financed projects listed in the green book (even including those with artistic impressions, it is less than $7 billion. Meanwhile, the government has borrowed the equivalent of $37 billion so where is the rest of the money? Indeed, given the resources at its disposal one should expect at least four times the quantum of investment that the NDC claims to have undertaken”, Dr. Bawumia said, as he began listing the six reasons.

Dr. Bawumia proceeded to list a number of things the over 30billion dollars from borrowing the NDC cannot account for, could have done, which proves that contrary to the claims, the NDC has done a bad job at giving Ghanaians their due after undertaking unprecedented borrowing in the last seven years.

Don't forget that the country is bankrupt. Leakages in revenue collection and high cost of debt payment obligation has led to poor public finances. this skewed incentive package has over the years have NOT really helped to elicit teachers true commitment and dedication to the their socalled calling to teach though others have more than shown that zeal. its again a matter of tact that teacher attrition rate in the field is still higher than all of the other professions simply because as the common phrase goes they entered the field as a "stepping stone" and so has the profession been perceived by and acted same by alot of students who enter it hence the continual stagnating or falling standards in the country's education, right or wrong..in anycase if it does makes real economic benefit to restore the allowances so be it...

There is common sense, and there is shear stupidity. The worst thing that can ever happen is when u get the two mixed up. Ghana as a nation has failed it's self by allowing the divide and rule system to consume it. In a few months to come when, when we all stand staring at the television screen like apes, watching mothers cry for their dead it won't matter if u are NPP or NDC. The fact of the matter will be that it has come to stay and there will be very little u or anybody can do about it. My prayer is that on that day, may u find ur self behind the T.V screen and not in front of the camera man. The event have been put it motion and it is no longer a matter of if but a matter of when and where. So u can sit there and blab about how incompetent Mahamma is or how Bawomia is a liar. All I can say is God be with u on that DAY.
