Nkrumah allowed and participated in 3 Elections or more, most of which were supervised by the British and won them all, clean and squarely. If your side lost to him, and you tend to be a sour loser, deal with your handicap but stop lying about him.

The man had his faults. He became dictatorial only later, after enduring incessant attempts by the Opposition to kill him and overthrow his Regime that was fairly elected to Power with massive majority. Just be bold to concede that. Hindsight is always 20/20 and we may all now agree that dictatorship was not the only and best option for him to deal with the murderous Opposition. But we may be missing or ignoring the circumstantial factors that led Nkrumah into being that dictatorial.

I can understand how you may hate him because he stood his grounds to campaign for the majority consensus to deny your side the chance to rule the Country at that time. I can understand your hatred for him if his later counterattack on the Opposition caught some of your favorite politicians and possibly, your family members, in terrible incriminating circumstances that had heavy penal consequences like spending time in jail at Nsawam.

But for Christ's sake, tell all the story and not only your sugar-coated side, and don't simply condemn Nkrumah to satiate your hatred for him.

You may not be in the CPP to closely see what was going on in the Party. So, if Samia is claiming any distorted process to deny her a fair chance, you may not be the best judge to vilify her, until you probe to know more.

Besides, Dr. Agyemang-Badu Akosah, a stalwart member of the Nkrumahist Party, reiterated Samia's view on how the CPP primaries were corrupted with monetary inducements. So, let us who are not in the Party make our judgments with a full plate, all-round facts. Not just a partial conveniently selected facts.

The idea that some folks consider themselves longstanding members of Political Parties, and therefore have to be obeyed without questioning, and also, reserve the right to choose who leads the Party, even sometimes using all kinds of coercion to impose themselves on the Party must be discarded. So, also is the idea that relatives, especially, children of past leaders earn special concessions to become the Flagbearers of the Parties, like in the case of Samia. I hope Samia's motivation for seeking the Flagbearership of the CPP is not so she could enjoy some illusive personal entitlements of any kind from just being Nkrumah's daughter.

Relatives of past Politicians could only be seen in advantageous light when they are believed to know best how to achieve the ideals of those past leaders the Party that the members share in. We must concede that some other members of the Party could be more qualified and capable to deliver the same goals.

The CPP party since Edmund Delle became the Chairman, seems to be unusually yoked to the NDC party, not that there is any difference between the NDC and the CPP. However, for the CPP which wants Ghanaians to believe it's not under the shadow of the NDC, the claims by Samia is damning and the CPP Chairman should quit blowing hot air and address the issues raised by their former party Chairwoman.
