I would advise that we dont put all the blame on Jantuah who is now weak, infirm and probably senile. He has probably lost the ability of discretion and good judgement to restrain himself from expressing the kind of vulgar sentiments that we all harbour from time to time but which we manage to restrain within.
However I would also like to say that many tribes ethnic groups in Ghana continue to practice extremely primitive customs that look down on disabled people.
As an Ashanti, Jantuah has probably been influenced throughout his life to follow or abide by traditional taboos established against disabled people in the Ashanti kingdom. I am made to understand that disabled people are not permitted to enter the residence - or is it the palace of the Asantehene to meet him.
That being so, I suppose that anybody who respects or pays obeisance to the Ashanti kingdom would likewise also look down upon or disrespect disabled people.
So folks lets leave old Jantuah alone and if we are honest with ourselves, let us deal with the source of the problem.

Dont fret folks. Jantuah was once thrown out of Kwame Nkrumahs circle of trusted aids when he stole money belonging to the state and briefly jailed. Im not sure what happened after that but I know that Kwame Nkrumah, true to form, dealt with him well, well.
It was the 1966 coup, an event that he is now castigating, that saved him his dignity. He has since, cleverly exploited that break in governance as well as the higher intelligence, integrity and repute of his own brother who was a more respectable member of the CPP govt, to pose and pretend to be a genuine follower of Kwame Kwame.
The only reason why he thinks that Akosa, a disgraced rapist, can be a better candidate than Greenstreet, is simply because Akosa is of his native Ashanti origin. Jantuah would have better served the interests of the UP-National Liberation Movement bomb-throwers who at the time were agitating for a federal-tribalist system of governance.
Kwame Nkrumah did not "intentionally appointed semi literates to his cabinet so that he will dominate them." The semi illiterates of those days were a thousand times more educated and enlightened the most educated professors of today. Their physical and historical accomplishments are there for all who have brains and eyes, to see. In any case, those who claimed to be educated, were more interested in acts of terrorism and anarchy to solve the young country's problems. They had steadfastly refused to join or assist Kwame Nkrumah in running the country at a time when after almost 500 years of colonial dictatorship of one kind or another, the number of well-educated Ghanaians did not even reach 100.

This is a rather disappointing comment from an elder statesman like Mr. Jantuah. Ivor Greenstreet did not choose his disability. And, more crucially, ideas and the passion to develop a country are not embedded in the legs of a person. Ivor has the brains and the vision, the passion to lead Ghana. How many of the several 'able bodied' leaders that we have had in the past have contributed significantly to the development of Ghana? In my humble opinion, it is not whether the person is disabled or not that points to whether they can lead a nation, but rather the leadership qualities, the programmes and passion for the development of Ghana

You are right because Ghanaians would judge a book by the cover. They would not consider the intelligence and efficiency of a person but rather how tall and stupid the person is.
