Ghana only depended on Hydroelectric power but President Mahama upgraded the power sector by building additional power plants to keep the country going. At least he wasn't the sitting president who encountered this problem. Ex president Kuffour had the same problem and helped in saving 1,452 Megawatts to the country’s installed capacity during his two terms in Office. But Mahama was able to come out with an initiative by building more plants such as the Bui Dam and bring on board the Power Barge to supply us with enerby, i think he needs to be commended on that.

Power purchase agreements have been entered into with several Independent Power Producers to construct additional power plants. the minstry of power has also in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders have already made significant progress towards the completion and commissioning of the under-listed projects; 220MW Kpone Thermal Power Project (KTPP) and 110MW Tico ExpansionProject.President Mahama,as available data shows is the only President that has put down an elaborate strategy to deal with the crisis head-on regardless of the challenges.The negative propaganda of the NPP this time around wont suffice. While your quest for the capacity figures is commendable, the CEO of GRIDCo mentioned sometime in January that, capacity is in excess by 6%, but did not reveal the actual figures. He, however, went further to add that, the projected demand for 2016 is 2,477MW. He also outlined a number of power projects coming on board this year.

I would therefore believe the load-shedding is resolved for now and perhaps in the next year or two. However, erratic power failures, due to faulty gear in the power network could still prevail unless 'serious' proactive maintenance is put in place.

This is very necessary because as far as parlance goes, any form of power outage, be it load-shedding or faults, is still classified as Dumsor.

Lies lies lies, certain part of cape coast is off now. My own house is off pedu to 4th ridge. Even the pedu junction traffic is off too even the police regional headquarters they r using their genset. Flipping liars.

How do people recoup losses to to damage to appliances over the years?
Cost to me alone exceed $7,000 in 2 Generators and repair of 6 Air Conditioners about $4,000 combined.
