Terpker turned out to be a politician and not a Finance Minister. He was unable to stand up to the unproductive political expenditures that the government engaged in under the guise that there was nothing wrong borrowing to develop infrastructure. The kind of infrastructure we need to stimulate economic growth are not school buildings and roads in places that don't generate economic activity. We have borrowed our selves to the point that we have become beggars.

Dr. Mark Assibey Yeboah is right. No One can see anything that terkper is doing apart from clutching the purse to help his cronies. Despite so many people screaming ndc be careful oo, they never listened and they are doing exactly what they were warned not to.
The whole thing makes us sick. In 35 years of ghana, one ndc party - constantly screwing up beyond belief.
I really appreciate Dr Asibeys comments. It is very abnormal to allow a government to run a deficit and then call it growth when that growth is less than 2% for a developing nation. Had it not been for the bank of ghana who realised that their reputation stood to be in tatters, if they managed the country's finances without any budgetary discipline or monetary stimulus, then the country will be put into recession again.
Fact - ndc are deficit deniers. Until an MP understands this, quits being greedy, wakes up from their slumber, then goes to visit the people who are suffering, openly talk to them and see their tears about what is and has happened to them as a result of government failing to act, then let ndc suffer.
Never has any one party squandered so much national money that its just ridiculous.

HOW DO WE BETTER THE ECONOMY, WHEN THE NATION STILL LACKS DYNAMIC INDUSTRIES,MANUFACTURING AND PROCESSING PLANTS TO PROPEL ECONOMIC GROWTH, JOBS CREATION, INCOME AND BETTER STANDARDS OF LIVING IN THE COUNTRY.
WE CAN ONLY LEAD TO THE BETTER, WHEN WE ARE IN THE POSITION TO INNOVATE AND TO RELIEVE THE HARDWORKING ILLITERATE COCOA FARMERS AND UNSKILLED MINE LABOURERS TO EARN THE NATIONS FOREIGN CURRENCY TO SUPPORT NATIONAL BUDGETS,WAGES AND SALARIES,IMPORTATION OF FOOD, COMMODITIES AND EXPENSIVE LUXURY CARS AND JEEPS FOR USE BY NON PRODUCTIVE EDUCATED AND POLITICIANS FOR HIGHLIFE,MERRYMAKING AND HONEYMOON IN THE COUNTRY.
THIS IS A CRIMINAL EXPLOITATION.
AT THE SAME TIME, IT IS A CRIMINAL ACT FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR TO PARTNER THE PRIVATE SECTOR.
THE PRIVATE SECTOR IS NOT INDUSTRIAL AND ONE WONDERS WHY, SUCH A PROPOSAL FROM OUTSIDE IS BEING FORCED IN THE COUNTRY.
THEY ARE ONLY MARKETING FOREIGN GOODS IN THE COUNTRY-BUYING AND SELLING.
WHERE ARE WE STILL LIVING. SUCH PARTNERSHIPS ARE NOT IN EXISTENCE IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD.
A WELL BUILT PRIVATE SECTOR HAS TO PARTNER WITH THE PUBLIC UNOVERSITIES AND FOR THEM TO BE IN THE POSITION TO PRODUCE AND BRING NEW PRODUCTS TO THE MARKETS.
LASTLY, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERSHIPS WILL ONLY ENCOURAGE BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION, MANIPULATION, EMBEZZLEMENT, FRAUD, STEALING AND DUBIOUS AND FICTITIOUS CONTRACTS DEALS.
THIS CLEARLY INDICATES THAT, WE STILL HAVE A BIG VACUUM IN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA.
WHERE ARE THE S CALLED EDUCATED ECONOMISTS,FINANCIAL, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND ACCOUNTANTS IN THE COUNTRY.
ARE WE NOT A LOST GENERATION.
