Though you might not have sought his opinion, he has offered it and there is a lot of sense in what he has said. In which country around the world are MPs given state securities? Was the MP killed because he is an MP or were there motives for the act other his being an MP? If State decides to give state protection to these MPs, there is no reason why Headmasters of schools, Directors of Firms, Secretaries General of various organisations should not be given state securities.

I total agree with Mr hey Heyford we don't need security for all our MPs who are spending too much from the tax payers coffins, what's going on in Ghana? The killing of late Hon Danquar is an isolated incident and should be treated as such. Let's no create panic among ourselves. How many MPs have been killed or assisnated since our Country started constitutional parliament? We don't leave in Afgnanistan or Iraq where politicians are constantly targeted. Let's overhaul our whole public security rather than only MPs who can afford to hire private security personnel anyway. We have a lot of "Yea Yea" MPs in parliament who do less and yet enjoy a lot of state hand out such as free housing, generous car loans, free coupons for fuel and free food, where as the ordinary Ghanaian is suffering just to meet his basic livelihood requirements. We are seeing everyday arm robbers killing our business men and women and same MPs are doing nothing about it but when is one of them killed they want security. What is good for goose is good for...? The crime wave is getting worse because our politicians have failed the masses. I don't not support the killing of any Ghanaian by another Ghanaians. There's so much rot in the system youth unemployment, high cost of living, corruption across all sectors of the society, overpolitization among others. We don't need security for our MPs what we need is more jobs for the youth who are turning to crime because the state have failed them, is a shame our leaders only think about their pockets first and Ghana second. After 50 years of independence we are still having energy problems in Ghana what a shame.

Either they stop providing Security for Ministers, their deputies and DCE's or they provide security for all.
Of the three branches of government, Executive and Judiciary get Securuty protection and it is only the legislature that they do not provide security to.

If Muslims have problems with traditional authorities in Tafo, why did they attack Christian churches. Mahama sees all these yet he will not condemn them. The last time, Muslims burnt down a christian Mission house in Atebubu and that one too he did not condemn it. Muslims went on demonstration in Takoradi for equal right in Christian schools and that one attracted condemnation from Mahama against Christian missionary schools. Why is it so? Is it because Mahama sees christians as too docile to be respected?
