The NDC government has proven beyond imagination since they came into power that they can rule this country and find lasting solutions to the country's critical problems. a clear example is the protracted power crisis which has now being improved drastically and dumsor will be a thing of the past. NDC is concerned about the safety and welfare of Ghanaians thus, doing equipping the security services with logistics to carry out their duties effectively. over 200 vehicles were presented to the security services couple of weeks ago. An emergency command center has also been launched to monitor hot spots in the country ahead of the upcoming election to prevent violence. Police have equally commenced investigation into the death of the late MP and 6 arrest have been made so far.

Asiedu's comment does not implied that, the death of JB is meant to cause confusion in the NPP but only sounding a word of caution against our utterances and comments following the aftermath of the death of JB Danquah. because some NPP MPs including Hon Attakyea claimed the death of the late MP is a sign of great things to happen, whilst others are also jumping into conclusion that its a contract killing instead of addressing the issue as to how to ensure security for MPs. NDC as a party just like does not condone wrong doings or support acts of violence and would never be behind the death of late JB Danquah.

Retired broadcaster Joe Lartey has tipped former president John Agyekum Kufuor as the best leader under the Fourth Republic.

The 89-year-old who is popularly known as “Over to You” – a cliché he enjoyed using during his commentary days with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) – said Kufuor is his favourite ahead of JJ Rawlings, John Atta Mills and John Mahama because of his social intervention programmes.

“Kufuor did a lot of good,” the octogenarian told host of Starr Chat Bola Ray on Wednesday.

Kufuor, who came to power after winning the 2000 presidential elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party, ruled Ghana for eight years.

“He did a lot of school feeding programmes, health insurance was a good move and went to the extent of having the insurance of lactating matters being taken care of. Kufuor’s policies were good and Ghana was back from HIPC,” Mr. Lartey added.

Mr. Lartey, who turns 90 on June 6, 2016, also spoke about the economic situation of the country, saying Ghana is still not independent when it comes to managing its economy.

Managing Editor of Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr’s observation that some functionaries of the ruling National Democratic Congress are behaving “as if they missed opposition and appeared to be doing everything possible to make that a reality” may not be far from the truth.

Barely nine months to the crucial November 7 general elections, The aL-hAJJ can authoritatively report that the prime focus of some among the leadership of the governing NDC is not how to retain power but who calls the shots in the affairs of the party.

Weeks of investigations into the affairs of the party following a tip-off indicates that some national officers of NDC are embroiled in an uncompromising war over turf to the detriment of their core responsibilities of working together to assist President John Dramani Mahama to achieve his dream of securing a second term.

Although these NDC executives, party insiders disclosed, are not indifferent to a second term of the President, they nevertheless, are fighting each other over who forms the fulcrum around which the party should revolve.

Intelligence report gathered by this paper indicates that the National Chairman, Kofi Portuphy is still uncertain of party General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketsia’s loyalty and confidence in him as National Chairman of the party because he is more comfortable dealing with 1st vice chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.

This, according to insiders, is creating disunity amongst the National Executives, with Kofi Portuphy said to be in control of a bloc within the leadership while John Asiedu Nketsia, also known as General Mosquito; also relying on the support of another faction.

Party insiders privy to the goings-on in the top echelon of the governing party told The aL-hAJJ, the problems in the party which preceded the Congress to elect National officers has gone from bad to worse to the extent that some of the national officers are not in talking terms.

National Chairman is reported to be enjoying support from National Organizer, Kofi Adams, the National Women Organizer, Hajia Joyce Zainab and a handful of other executives including two vice chairmen while the General Secretary also has four out of the six vice chairmen, a deputy General Secretary; the National Communication officer, Solomon Nkansah, among others backing him.

The internal wrangling, sources at the party’s headquarters narrated to this paper, has on several occasions impeded Functional Executive meetings called to discuss how to approach the impending elections.

Some leading members of the party fear the current bickering amongst the National Executives is likely to send the party into opposition despite the Mahama government’s impressive record of transformation being witnessed in all sectors of the economy.

The fear of persons who hold this view is further heightened by how the division in the executives is slowly but surely trickling down to the various organs of the party such that some regional, constituencies, and even branch executives have all taken sides.

I can strongly foresee that more of these deaths are on the loose. They will do everything possible to make the NPP look bad because they have nothing good for the country. NPP must watchout and protect all its jurisdictions because the evil is at work. Soon, they are going to pertuate damaging propaganda of all sorts. We will see or hear all forms of evil at NPP premises. NPP MPs may be attacked at their constituencies, some could be brutal or fatal. These would be done to weakened NPP stronghold and put fear in the people.
The NPP must prepare for these circumstances and respond accordingly.

Hospitals across the country say they are struggling to provide basic care for patients due to unpaid claims by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

The Authority owes about 400 members of the Health Insurance Service Providers Association (HISPAG) more than 36 million cedis in unpaid claims.

In the Upper West Region for instance, Joy News Correspondent, Rafiq Salam reports the situation is making it difficult for hospitals to treat patients.

NHIA owes over 19 million Ghana cedis to health facilities in the region, hospital authorities tell Rafiq.

Since Monday February 8 2016, HISPAG has been charging cash for services provided health insurance cardholders.

HISPAG has expressed concern over a directive by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to the NHIA to halt payment of claims because of ongoing probe into fraudulent activities at the Authority.

HISPAG says that directive is collapsing the health insurance scheme and impeding operation of hospitals.

Executive Director of HISPAG Frank Tobloh has told Joy News a roadmap agreed with government on the payment has not been followed.

“As at April last year, some facilities were not paid. That is the situation we find ourselves in. We have resolved that anybody who holds the National Health Insurance Cards and gets into any of our facilities, we are not going to turn them away but make sure they pay cash for the service and the drugs that we provide for such persons,” Tobloh said.

If a non Ghanaian reads the statement of Mr. Asiedu and reads the series of insults being propagated, the person will conclude that Ghanaians are NOT educated enough to read and understand a simple statement.
