"there have been suggestions that the process does not make ample room for the organisation of a run-offs and the subsequent handover on January 7th".
We don't need any more room.
After all, our campaigns have always effectively gone on for 4 years.
This is just an excuse by politicians to give themselves more time to raid the state's coffers and properties in case they're defeated.

George Loh,
It is important to consider the acceptance of all citizens on board before the amendment is considered. With the previous December 7, which was a date, the SDA had problem with it when the 7th fell on a Saturday, the Muslims raised some noise even though little, it actually came out. When it fell on Sunday some church groups had challenge with the day. The best we can do to ourselves is to use a day that can be acceptable to all without any eyebrows being raised. We know fisherfolk use Tuesday as their resting day. Hogbetsotso is climaxed on the first Friday of November, what about this? Should the 7th of November fall on a Friday, what will the Anlo people say? I will vouch for the Wednesday of November.

Mr NDC, from day one of the EC's assumption of duty, she has exhibited too much ignorance of the duty of a disinterested public figure, and unfortunately no one expresses concern about it.
The inefficiency of the EC is exhibited barely in every way, thought, body language and how she puts the message to the electorate. This manifests the situation prevailing in every sphere of the country, Ghana.
Any wonder the economy is in unimaginable distress, dire strait and decay, and why corruption is very prevalent and acutely high, while the ruling government takes a pretentious posture?
For the avoidance of any doubt on what I impute, the current Electoral Commissioner is very administratively incompetent for the position she occupies.

Don't mind them,I wonder what kind of people we have in Ghana who cannot think outside the box before taking decisions and we have a parliament that rubber stamp any stupid bill brought to them, anybody in his right mind would have thought of these things before deciding the date, instead of a DAY which some of us are saying but these parliamentarians are going to approve this dumb date the EC has proposed without taking all these things into consideration.
Are we going to tell Christians to cancel their churches on Saturdays and Sundays, are we going to tell the Muslims not to go to the mosque on Friday and are we going to tell the people of Anlo to cancel their Hogbetsotso festival if in a year the Election Day falls on any of these days, how difficult it is for us to do things right in that country, when are we going to join the civilized world to do things like they do?

I suggest we extend the swearing-in day to february rather to accommodate the eventuality of a run-off.
The weather conditions in the forest regions which is mainly in the southern part of Ghana make room for rains which may affect turnout in any possible event. Per December 7, we hardly record any rainfall in almost the entire country.
Please legalize the date as soon as possible. We cannot wait to see Dead goat and his NDC cast out of Ghana's economic development.
