Obama is the first to pay his taxes. Let him fail to pay and see what will happen to him. In fact, the tax is taken before the remainder goes to his personal account like any citizen.
Every American president starts work on the January 19th after he wins the election so he is not paid for the first 18 days of the year – not in Africa.
Our cherished tradition is our downfall.

According to Dr Michael J.K. Bokor, the Amenfi West people are very stupid to have voted the NDC candidate in the current paliamentary by-election.
Bokor's insult can be taken from his 3rd paragraph of his article posted to the opinion column of Ghanaweb.com on the 17.12.2015 with the heading:
"The lessons that Amenfi West has taught us (Part 1)"
Paragraph 3 that reads.:
"The people can sift the chaff from the grain. Those in the Amenfi West area know very well the issues at stake, especially the fact that they belong to the deprived segments of the population, that they do not have enough food on their tables, that they cannot pay high school fees to support their wards in schools, that they cannot pay high tariff rates, that they lack basic amenities like potable water, etc., etc.

Ghanaians are visibly yearning for a change to liberate themselves from the corrupt nation wreckers' party which has brought untold hardship on them.
NPP party, on the other hand, has what it takes to save the nation from the sinking ship, and fully prepared to take over from the NDC con men democratically through free and fair elections.
Their water-gating tactics will not save them because Ghanaians have seen the light, and their attempt to divert their attention from the real issues confronting the nation will backfire on them

Should Nana win in this coming election and if he can remain honest as he claims, then I would advise him to get the brains behind and power from parliament to get the US involved to investigate where all the $90 billion borrowed by this government went and to recover this money for the nation. Yeah, don’t get carried away on the mention of the US. They are the only nation with the power to demand for documents and clarification from any foreign power even including the sovereign Switzerland and China. All those overseas investments of Prez Mahama, his brothers, friends and anyone even caught stealing a dime from the people should be brought to books. There should be an example set and some escape goats. Ghana should set the benchmark and the precedence that no one should be immune whether president or not to answer to corruption charges. The Anti- Corruption Agency find it impossible for them to do their jobs under the current atmosphere that; there is no prosecution, no deterrents or whatsoever when people are caught. If Nana can do this then I will expect them to live by the same rules and serve the nation and not the nation to serve them as it is in this current government.

Ghana’s President Hurls Insults At Obasanjo At African Forum In London-bloomberg
There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults. This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.

How about reducing expenditure; reducing number of ministers; reducing number of embassies abroad? Laying off of sleeping civil servants; privatize Givernment enterprises. People like you need to run for office because you posess basic common sense. The behaviors of government is not normal at all to anyone with common sense. I have asked myself if there are any economically and financially astute people in government because the borrowing is so outrageous as if they don't understand that it is not free money and that they have to pay it back. For years I've been perplexed by the lack of property tax collection along with collecting taxes in general from multinationals etc. I remember 1 of my uncle's moved back to Ghana from the USA and was shocked by the little amount that he was asked to pay for property taxes to a point where he paid the entire year upfront. As an economics professor he realized that this was part of the reason why Ghana was not fiscally able to move forward; yet no administration in the past decade or before with all these multi-million dollar properties bring built - has sought to generate revenue this rather rather raising taxes on the have nots! Oh Ghana When o? SMH!

THE FIRST INSTINCT OF NPP IS DISTRACTION
THE COCOA PROBLEM
School of execellence mathematics and please read carefully including all NPP parliamentarians especially those who went through education.
If $1.7 billion loan was taken to by 850,000 metric tonnes of cocoa in the cocoa buying season and only 700,000 tonnes was bought how much money will be left by the NPP's arithmetic to warrant a boycott. It will be left with $3 million dollars all things being equal.
What is tge percentage purchase made so far on the $1.7 billion loan? It means the president MAHAMA government was able to purchase a phenomenal 82% of all cocoa so far and its still left with $3,000,000.
Ghana definately has two purchasing seasons; low and high due to the geo-climatic stretch of the naturally endowed cocoa growing areas.
So for the low season purchase if we are left with just $3 million and government estimates that we do have even more cocoa to purchase do lets say we need another $300 million bring to a total od $303 million if the loan is approved.
Then my biggest QUESTION is where is the need for boycott of parliament by NPP.
Ghanaians what the NPP is telling the farmers in the low season is that hey we do not care the government should use $3 million left to buy whatever cocoa it can and the rest of the cocoa can rot in the bush.
These unfortunate farmers will not have money for the next season, cocoa production surely falls in 2016 government of course President Mahama will be blamed for it.
