My only worry now about Akuffo Addo's presidency is his tendency to divide this country and brutalize his opponents as is happening in his party these days. I'm not convinced that Akuffo Addo can resolve the many challenges confronting this nation as he will be busy using the state security to chase away those who don't agree with him.

Not long ago the ruling NDC government was encouraging all to patronize made in Ghana goods. By his statement, he has declared his intention as good citizen to heed to that call. This is not an NDC NPP or PPP issue. Its about Ghana. A nation who is bedeviled with 'buying and selling' in spite of the abundant raw materials. It has become a habit for otherwise intelligent (I hope!) Ghanaians to hurl undue insults at anything that comes from our leaders. What is wrong with supporting local enterprise? Why can't commentators make VALID arguments stating their position and thinking on a given issue, rather than resorting to gutter level comments that most times have little or nothing to do with the subject at hand?

I think it is laudable that a major political figure has chosen to support local enterprise. The man behind Kantanka has been around for a long time and has done much on his own. Support from the government can make a big difference.

Here is my argument: EVERY truly developed country on this planet at one stage had to promote local efforts in science and technology to build industry. This goes without exception. What is wrong with Ghana doing that as well? And even more... what is wrong with such efforts gaining political backing. If anything at all, there should be more such calls.

Let's not descend into the habit of simply dismissing anything that gets said or done.

He said actions by some members of the party indicate that both of them â?? especially the General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong are not needed as leaders of the party and that they risk being relegated to the background during the 2016 elections if Nana Akufo Addo wins the primaries. Speaking on Radio Goldâ??s â??Alhaji Alhajiâ?? programme he said â??the days of Kwabena Agyepong and Paul Afoko are numbered if Nana Addo wins the primaries. They should think deeply about their future. There is a deliberate action to sideline them from the 2016 general election because anytime he says something concerning the party, someone from the party will come and say another thing to contradict what he has saidâ??. We lack sanitation including toilets, our school buildings need renovation, the health system is out of control and the power supply is unreliable. Just focus on the stuffs that need doing and stop thinking about campaign cars. I don't give a toss my brother!
