Umar Farooq Zahoor (born 26 October 1975) is a Norwegian-Pakistani businessman and gain criminal.

Zahoor grew up in Oslo with Pakistani parents, and started his own agency at age 18. He has also run business in countries such as Switzerland, Mexico, Dubai and Egypt. In 2000 he was revealed to have embezzled tickets for over 15 million through its own travel agency. [1]

In 2003 he started up the fake bank Banque Internationale Ltd. in Switzerland with Shaun Gregory Morgan from New Zealand. Morgan was in 2009 sentenced to five years in prison for extensive fraud. [2] That same year, Zahoor convicted in Oslo District Court to one year in prison for aggravated embezzlement.

In 2004 he was arrested in Pakistan and allegedly tortured by police. [3] The arrest was based on a review that was staged by a Turkish businessman and politician Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh who year after it was accused of extensive corruption. [4] [5]

In 2006 he married the Pakistani actress Sofia Mirza and got two twin daughters with her. [6] When the marriage was dissolved in 2009 the mother was awarded custody of the twins, and the fear that Zahoor was going to take his daughter out of Pakistan these are included on a list of people who could not leave the country. This however was not enough to prevent the same year he managed to kidnap daughters and smuggle them out of Pakistan by using fake passports. [7] In 2013, it was announced that Zahoor had entered into engagement with the Pakistani actress Veena Malik. [8 ]

Zahoor brother Usman Zahoor, defrauded in 2010 along with four accomplices Block Wathne-widow Randi Nilsen for over 63 million. Money was using a false proxy transmitted through Nordea's branch at Tveita in Oslo, and ended up in Dubai where they are believed to be controlled by Umar Zahoor. That cannot be tangential, actually it is the very basis of why Ghana is where we are today concerning the state of the economy of our country and this energy deal, which is but just one of a series of deals in which thievery was built into it, and would be exposed subsequently.
Indeed, it is the very crux of the matter and it speaks directly to the kind of leadership John Dramani Mahama is providing in this country and shows and depicts the abject lack of integrity of the office and person of John Dramani Mahama and finally, the criminally minded and corrupt nature of John Dramani Mahama.
This is a very earth-shattering indictment on the office of the Presidency and it's occupant, that today the NDC presidential candidate who was widely acclaimed and endorsed by their party is hobnobbing and dealing with criminals wanted over the whole of Europe but some regard such a damaging and disastrous occurrence as something tangential and of no consequence.
Where did Ghana go so wrong to have such a President? How did Ghana fall so low? This is by far the worst yet to be witnessed of the Mahama NDC gov't and Ghana should be very afraid.
It is embarrassingly pathetic, and inconceivably distressing, for Edward Bawa to seek to rubbish this particular piece of information, and it is really a very sad day in Ghana and for the NDC party and gov't and for the African continent.
This is the day Ghana wept.
So with all this playing out how was it even remotely possible for John Dramani Mahama to rubbish reports of Transparency International, the Afrobarometer report and those from the GII all indicting John Mahama severely, for his religious adherence to everything and anything related to corruption?
How can he hobnob, deal and dine with criminals and perpetuate criminal deals on the poor Ghanaian taxpayer, and when it is exposed by credible reports from very credible institutions with proven track records, blame the media for some purported wrongful interpretation of such reports? That is crudity bothering on the absurd, and the facts shows clearly, Ghana is under the reign of corruption of the most gargantuan and unprecedented kind, which demands swift answers if this country is to maintain it's equilibrium in addressing the huge developmental challenges facing this country.
The John Mahama NDC gov't cannot lead this country, no NO WAY, and they must go.

Look at it from this angle. You want to run a taxi business. The car tyres alone cost 10 Ghana cedis. Does that mean 10 Ghana cedis is how much it is going to cost you to run this taxi business? You haven't even bought the taxi yet, add in fuel cost, other operating cost, etc.

What your fucking NPP is saying is that if the car tyres alone cost 10 Ghana cedis, then why should anyone running a taxi business put the cost of such a business at 50 Ghana cedis?

Take a step back and look at what the cost components of the power plant are;

(a) 10 turbines for 220 million dollars.

(b) Construction cost of the plant

(c) Direct and Indirect Operation cost of the plant over a 5 year period.

So put together, this transaction far exceeds the base cost of 220 million dollars.

After 5 years of running the power plant, ownership of the the plant transfers to Ghana and then it is now up to us to operate the plant. Of course, during these 5 years , the company will enjoy some concessions from the state.

On the issue of some being a criminal, I want to point out that even Akufo Addo is affiliated with cocaine smugglers like Nana Poku and Raymond Amankwah.

Ghana has no contract with the said Umar Zahoor so what the fuck in the big deal. Even as you people are crying foul, AMERI is on the ground right in Ghana and building the power plant, despite Umar's signature.

Look, this NPP shenanigans will backfire in their face. It will not gain traction. Just give this issue 1 week, and NPP will run away with its tattered tail between its legs. Wait and see how the lies falls apart like a deck of cards.

"It must also be explained that the quoted price of $220 million in the Norwegian story for outright purchase of similar turbines is exclusive of all other costs such as auxiliaries, balance of plant, civil works, sub-station, installation of equipment, cost of financing, operation and maintenance etc."

This statement implies that cost of all auxiliaries is included in the $510 million. However, the minister's statement below says:

"Under the agreement with AMERI Energy, the cost of all these auxiliary works is being borne by AMERI Energy."

If the cost of all the auxiliary works is being borne by AMERI Energy how come it is included in the price?

These guys are trying to fool Ghanaians.
