Politics is generally a dirty business everywhere it is practised. But it seems Ghanaian politics is sucking sooooo badly.
We have two dominant parties, neither of which is anything to write home about. Everybody is in it for the personal benefits they will get. NDC is just stumbling along not showing any vision and capabilities of solving the country's myriad problems.
The main opposition party is a really Nagging People's Party. It is a party divided down the middle because of personal aggrandizement. One man, Akufo-Addo, has imposed himself on the party even though he has serious opponents within.
Afoko is surely not going to take things lying down. He is going to fight to the bitter end.
This will be the best time that Ghanaians must vote for a party that is NOT NDC or NPP. But this is not going to happen. The smaller parties will never come together to make sure that they make inroads into the fortunes of the dominant parties so that neither of them holds us all to ransom.
NPP will know no peace until both Afoko and Akufo-Addo leave the scene. The youth in the party should take over but they are also fast learning the bad ways of their elders.

Sydney Abugre's attempt to extol Afoko is lame. Afoko demonstrated against the PNDC as a PNP activist. When he returned in 2000, Liman's PNC was there but he opted to go along with Kufour and not the NPP per se. What is happening to the party now is a consequence of the mission he was employed to accomplish. By the way, Sydney forgot or refused to add the acid and Asawase issues to Afoko's biography. Sydney is probably waiting to feature him in the biographies of these victims. It is wiser and better to advise Afoko than mislead him into more disaster. His master has caused enough damage on him already! Poor soul!

Politics is a brutal business and one has to tread carefully. Given that Paul Afoko was a known Alan-loyalist, he found himself playing a tricky balancing act. On the one hand, Afoko had the responsibility as chairman of the party, whereas on the other hand, some of his actions exposed his factional motives, particularly in the battle for the control of the party HQ. Some of his actions and behaviour were extremely unwise and unhelpful. And given the divisive split between the Kufour/Alan-Nana Akufo-Addo factions, Paul Afoko made himself easy to remove.

Mr Aburi George Sydney, if you intend to write such fact seek the fundamental truth first. 1 The Airborne Force from Tamale who are the upper East Regions military detachment were in bolga not the 6th Battalion. 2 Paul.Afoko was never in prison and never came back to Ghana when he escaped to Burkina Faso. Just these two facts should let you seek again what you write as you are trying to cook history as fast food. Afoko married a white woman while in Britain and was living in the Deptford area in a council housing estate till he moved back to Ghana as a spokesman for the NPP. Stop trying to make a fool of the masses.

It looks like the writer was in a rush to write about Afoko without proper investigation. We only read about his small political life.little known about his school life in Ghana and when he was in UK as well.
