Time will tell whether this is a gimmick or not. If you want to build a skyscraper you need to dig deep. Let's see what policy framework will emerge and that will tell us whether it's all a gimmick a usual or a serious thing ...

The project of drafting a long-term national development plan is one that is visionary and pursuing. All manner of Ghanaians must be encouraged to bring their input, so that the plan will be all-encompassing.

I don't know if this document takes into consideration why previous plans didn't work,enforcement of policies,a proactive role of ndpc,and the status of the economy with its ability to implement the plan by governments.for no ...

After Mahama saddles Ghana with 100 billion cedis debt load, and about to be voted out of power, they come up with 40 year development plan. Tell us after the money has been siphoned out of the sysyem, from where are we going to get the resources to finance a 40yr. development plan. Even our new found oil money is managing the interest on our 100 billion loan.
Thank Mahama now I do not know which person are you, smart or a thief?

This is the best report we've read about those deliberations at thus point.

We imagine if the 10 4-year terms are staggered in such a way that citizens are able to evaluate plans and programs accomplished within 3 years after an election, that would be a game changer - for accountability purposes.

BUT, more emphasis ought to be devoted to building up the capacity and professional competencies of planners and administrators at the town and district levels.

I am for the 40 year national development plan, but I don't think it is being clearly explained to all Ghanaians. It is not the brain child of the NDC. All the political parties in the country must redouble their efforts to be part of the NDPC:

The leaders of each party should submit policy papers on how they intend to fit the 40 year development plan into their manifestos and present the policy papers at the consultations sessions to be discussed.

Dr. Nii Moi Thompson must stressed that the national development plan is made up of five components - economic, social, environmental, infrastructural, & global relations

All five components must be highlighted in the 40 year development plan, not only the economic and social,

I will like you to start with Sanitation.Every house in Ghana must have a toilet.All the communities,villages,cities must have Roads.Every villages,and cities must have Electricity,Hospitals,Drinking Water.Every Ghanaian must be provided with two Bed roam Flat,or House.
Every City,Town,and village must have Public Buses,Trams,and Train must be Provided to the People of Ghana.Free Junior,and Senior high School must be Provided to every Citizen of Ghana.
