There's nothing specific to give us any optimism .The electricity problem probably is obvious because the few who work sees its effects on a daily basis and the rest can't help but notice it at night when they start bumping into things.
Sadly the other deficiencies are not that easy to spot.A budget or policies which lack depth or purpose is not that obvious. Even when it's a good budget, the government,s track record of running affairs doesn't breed any confidence.
One of the critical things we need to get under control is the currency. The best solution is a medium to long term one. That is export more than we import but unfortunately we can't afford the rate of depreciation and something drastic is needed to arrest the situation now.
I know a lot of economist would not agree with me but more stringent import controls should be put in place. Certain food items should be banned from coming to the country not just for economic reasons but health as well. We should in the short to medium term consider bringing back import licence to control what comes to this country. If it's not going to help our economy to grow or help us in some critical manner, we should ban it. Just like the West treats immigration, if your skills can be found in their country forget it
