This is a foolish idea,somebody may be in prison in the UK or Ghana based on the laws of that country which may happen that the crime that sent him to prison is not a crime in the other country and let us ask ourselves if the convict challenges the authorities in that country with the argument that it is wrong for him to serve a prison time in a country where the crime that sent him to prison is not a crime in the country he is now serving the sentence,did we take such things into consideration,what about parole or release program which we either don't have in Ghana or is difference?

Criminals should serve their sentences at where they commit their crimes,importation of criminals is foolish.

They go to prison and have a square meal on a day plus gym etc all the pecks when in their own homes the can't afford a decent meal apart from COW FOOT and Ears. Bring them home to spend a day at nsawam and they will never commit a crime in their life time. On the other hand corrupt politicians and connected people in Ghana who are jailed in the UK will ask for a transfer to Ghana knowing that they will return to their mansions and not to prison. Watch closely how UK deals with Jamaicans, the PM had to physically go there to broker a deal to build modern prison and aid to support this transfer of prison. Even with that, it was all over being condemned in the UK by Jamaicans asking why UK chose to build prisons for them instead of aid giving to their poor.Its was deemed an insult Jamaicans.

Now here we are that UK has brokered similar deal with us and our ministers are proudly doing this and have demanded no investment or reviewed the impact this can course on Ghana public purse.

A British citizen incarcerated in the hellhole of Ghanaian prisons will get to go home and spend the rest of his sentence in a prison that the average Ghanaian will envoy for its luxury. On the other hand, the Ghanaian incarcerated in UK is sent to Ghana to be put in the prison that is substandard and not fit for human habitation.

This agreement makes no sense. Ghana prisons are congested. Ghanaians serving the prison sentences in the UK will be happier in the UK prisons than Ghana prisons. How many UK citizens are prisoned in Ghana? But there are hundred Ghanaians in the UK prisons. This agreement will only add burden to the Ghana's economic woes. If Ghanaians are convicted under the UK law, it makes sense to serve the prison term in the UK. Ghana should not be made to pay for what happened in the UK. Its just like Ghana is paying for UK problems and its stupid.

The long run impact is UK looking well over their public purse and attaning suplus where you will be seeing our government again with cut in hand begging for aid and grants because their have not looked well after their masters property.

Believe Uk will give you when you ask and they will impose near-infinite interest on you and dictate what they need you to change and accept on your own soil.
