HAD BABA KEPT HIS EYES ON THE MAN TO HIS LEFT. THE ATTACKING STOKE CITY PLAYER WOULD HAVE SHOT THE BALL AT NET OR DUMPED THE BALL INTO THE 18. BABA WAS CAUGHT WATCHING THE BALL. SO THE STOKE PLAYER LOBBED THE BALL OVER BABA FOR THE STOKE CITY PLAYER ON BABA'S LEFT AND THAT CAUSED THE GOAL RIGHT THERE. THIS IS CALLED DEFENDING 101. WAT WOULD JOHN MENSAH DO IN SUCH A SITUATION U ASK? HE WILL WATCH THE PLAYER NOT THE BALL

Chelsea's Throes Continue
If Ghanaians feel Baba Rahman is the answer to Chelsea's porous defense, think again. He may have excelled in German league, but he's going through "growing pains" right now. Baba should stay off the internet and spend time learning about the rugged and tactical nature of the Barclay's Premier League. Baba's performance against Stoke City is indeed enough evidence of Mounhrino’s slow progression approach to the young full back. It may be the case that Baba did not receive much help from Hazaard, nonetheless defenders must deal with such adversities. Baba could have changed his tactics when he encountered the nimble and crafty feet of the winger he was supposed to guard. Often, he looked askance and lost in the game, a disposition that is common with most new entrants in any league. Yes, there is a learning curve for Baba; but it's not a steep one. He just needs to be serious and thoroughly professional.
On another note, under the captainship of Asamoah Djan, Black Stars seemed to be tethering on the edge of “wonna-be” music stars. That so-called Baby-Jet syndrome is sucking and zapping the creativity and strength of the national team. Is it any surprising that Mr. Asamoah plies his soccer acts within countries that are complaint with such buffoonery? How many German players wear the hats of wonna-be musicians? What about Messi, Nehmah, Ronaldo, and others? These infectious socializing antics of Mr. Asamoah not only undermine team spirit, but, in a serious manner, create a profile whereby the players seek socializing outlets, much like magpies to magnets and lights.
When Steven Appiah, Kwesi Appiah and Abedi Pele were Captains of Black Stars, we never had the epidemic of national players who morphed as hip-hop artists. It’s one thing to sing a song in team spirit and solidarity. It’s altogether bizarre to see players spending much time in recording studios, when they should be building on strength and techniques. Ghana has gifted players, many of whom are young. But the team needs a philosophy that priorities professionalism in terms of mental and physical game preparation. Coach Avram has a difficult task to steer the team from consummate self-absorbed and self-gratification tendencies to a team that thinks and lives for the game. Until we witness such transformation, we would be able to defeat the likes of Comoros. However, we might not compete well with countries like Mali and even Nigeria that are reformulating their mindset to their national teams.

I made the same observation after the match. Baba was left too exposed. That notwithstanding, Baba is responsible for his own success. He must get his personal coach and physiologist. It will pay off in the medium to long term. José M. managed to deflate his confidence level just to prove a point and that's why Baba must not think about the immediate cost. He just work hard if he wants to be successful.

This is a selfish,"I can do all"player. On countless times,Baba was open on his left side in attack, but never gave him the ball.
Baba should also be held for his lapses.Shaqira was too much of a technical player for him.

Hazard, Oscar, Willian, mostly the midfielders did not make use of him. I Don't know what is actually going on between him n the big guys at Chelsea. I have observed that in many games. They failed to take advantage of his overlapping abilities.

But Baba should be told: "It's good to overlap but you should make sure that as a defender, your back and your man is covered". Defense is your first priority before overlapping. This desire to go on a run at the least opportunity has its downside. It's baptism by fire. He'll come out polished as gold. It's a new league. He'll learn. He needs our support though. Good luck, Baba. We're behind you.

Fans can say whatever but what Chelsea lack is a midfielder in the mould of Essien or Mkalele. Lastly, the strikers are not shooting; too many passes. The question is who would be the next Lampard?
