As a full back, he was supposed to move the ball forward and also provide an alternative to the winger, which was lacking in that match. Against Dynamo Kiev (2), there were a few flashes of him going forward but tracking back, as someone said, was difficult for him. I think the manager is doing the right thing, playing him occasionally in the Champions League, where he can play against continental European clubs that he's used to. Fans should not push too hard for his frequent use in the Premier League where any flop could make him get sidelined for a much longer time. My advise for him, is to be aggressive, not in tackles, but in advancing with the ball. If you don't try, you won't improve in that region. I remember when C. Ronaldo first joined ManU, his crosses, runs and step overs were not good. But now, step-overs have become an advancing player's most efficient tool, arguably! Work harder, Baba!! We support you.
