Everything must be free. Which of these industries will produce and sell for less than what it costs them. This stance is just playing to the gallery. Nobody tell them how to price their products but they want to bully the nation. Proposed tariffs are cheaper than privately generated electricity. They are cheaper than water sold on the streets.

I agree the government should not be delinquent. I more than agree with you that there should be marked improvement in current power delivery. The question is does the tariff reflect production cost? That is what I think is the role of PURC to scrutinize and make sure the public is not being cheated. There is also the question of productivity in the supply chain.

The government institutions are owing the electricity company 500 million dollars. The solution is not about tariff increment.We pay our bills so those institutions must also pay theirs.PERIOD......

EVEN GHANA'S LAME-DUCK USELESS MPs ENJOY FREE HOUSING, FREE FUEL AND FREE UTILITIES.

WHY SHOULD GHANAIANS ALLOW THIS FOR HEAVEN'S SAME?

EVEN AMERICA AND THE UK DO NOT PRACTICE SUCH FREEBIES TO THEIR LEADERSHIP.

NO WONDER MANY STATE INSTITUTIONS IN GHANA WANT TO BE EXEMPT FROM THE PAYMENT OF THE UTILITIES THEY CONSUME.

The PURC is always passing on the inefficiency of managing of the Ghanaian economy by the corruption, incompetence and mismanagement of the John Mahama government to the poor consumers. The PURC has never made sure that consumers had efficient services. The PURC is an unnecessary drain on government coffers.
