I think industries, government and non-governmental organizations should follow students academic research works and own them. In fact it is about time such organizations sponsor some of these works.

That's very revealing indeed however, our higher institutions should also wake up to be more proactive by establishing business or marketing units or the existing such departments within such institutions be given new mandate to go all out there and aggressively market and sell those findings to the industry after all what is more practical and appropriate impact of knowledge and skills than to start imbibing and inculcating the real and practical business spirit and culture into our students than this...our training institutions must begin to operationalize whatever they teach their students nowww...they must ''abandoned'' their cosy teaching environment and classrooms and get to the field and do real work there. this i believe will undoubtedly go a long way to make them a little more self sustaining and financially buoyant to engage in far more daring research activities for greater and speedy national development...for instance the recent findings by the KNUST for cure or treatment for elephantiasis is a case in point where by aggressive marketing and synergy with a pharmaceutical company the university could land itself in an awesome goldmine of resource for itself further and for greater national development....

The problem is how to transform what is on paper into realities to solve our myriad of problems. The missing link is the capital/money to bring these researches in fruition.

In developed countries, they have venture capitalists, Incubators, and entrepreneurs who are at the forefront of developing ideas and research work into profitable business, which also generates jobs and make society more prosperous. Exactly the things that the great visionary Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah believed in and was instituting. Now see who owns everything in Ghana, the foreigner.
