Anybody reading THIS AND THINKING of entering a partnership with Gov't or someone SHOULD FIRST SIGN a CONTRACT and PUT CLAUSES, IN CASE OF BREACH to get compensated at the court of LAW. So BOTH at the end will abide by. Now all the equipments you probably BORROWED MONEY from the bank has been a waste and a BIG DEBT. You could have recovered the equipment's money and be compensated. EVEN with this ORAL agreement, you MIGHT HAVE A CASE. SPEAK to a lawyer.

I am constantly shocked by some news coming out of Ghana, and this is one is no less shocking.
First of all, it is a pity the writer did not make any effort to get govt/Min. of Educ's side of the story. Even if it were the case of negative experiences such as poor quality, delayed delivery, more expensive local output, etc. that led to the decision to buy from China, that shouldn't have been the case. All newly industrialising countries faced such problems, including Japan and China. But, they actually forced their citizens to consume locally produced goods and restricted imports, even banning some items from the import list.
A story was told of how the newly industrialising Japanese used to ship their inferior merchandises to the Pacific islands under British and American control to be supplied to the shops of Japanese migrants. Japanese settlers had to dutifully buy the shoddy items, as records of their shopping were kept. Failure to patronise could result in punitive measures against relatives back at home. As for oneself, returning home could land one in BIG TROUBLE!
Of course, the same Japanese had for many decades the One Grain Policy, which forbade the importation of any food with a grain of rice in it, in the name of self-sufficiency and food security. Japanese dutifully bought local rice 6 times the world price!
Compare all this - the way the Asian countries had managed to modernise/ industrialise - to the way Ghana and other African countries are going about it and you'd be shocked by the total lack of knowledge Africans exhibit about the development process. To me, they appear to be bloody, ignorant idiots in limbo! And this NDC govt is worsening their disrepute even further.

Mahama led NDC government is simply collapsing every aspect of the economical fabric of our nation Ghana.
I worked at Juanpong Textiles (JTL), and Akosombo Textiles (ATL) including Tema Testiles (TTL); even in the 70's these factories were capable of manufacturing quality fabrics that Ghana could rely on as quality. I grade Ghana Textiles Printing's (GTP) as quality par to Vlisco of Holland.
At this economical stage, how in the world should Ghana import textiles from China or any other country for that matter. These factories in Ghana have the technology know how to manufacture any high quality fabric only if Mahama led NDC stop relying on china imports and the related kick backs from the Chinese.
Textile factories in Ghana are capable to upgrade and manufacture quality fabrics above Chinese cheap, cheap brand.

African leaders and some NDC members are so stupid and ignorant that inspite of their education they are useless and less insensitive and good for nothing. I don't think that China will import goods from Ghana whilst such items can be provided in China. When issues like this is raised for a National discussion the useless NDC members who support blindly become as silent as a church's mouse. We must stop being a party like and stop supporting these selfish politicians who are getting richer and richer at the expense of the vulnerable citizens. All what President Mahama is good at is borrowing he doesn't want to sow but just to reap what others have sown.If the industries collapse where will the govt raise funds to service its debt
