Seed money is the advance loans given to the Private Cocoa Buying Agencies to be paid back at the end of the cocoa season. This is what COCOBOD do: These companies under duress are forced to sign and collect less than what they sign for. Example; Company A sign for GHC150 million as a seed money but they're given only GHC80 million but at the end the company has to pay the full GHC150 million. This where the extortion comes in. Instead of Mr. Anane telling us the truth, he's beating around the bush.

Ouattara is happily re-elected and would love to have our smuggled Cocoa to boost his foreign exchange reserves with which to attract more investment in his country for its rapid development.
I am not sure whether the Officials at Cocobod are pursuing any hidden agenda to whittle the main source of wealth in their political antithesis' stronghold.
If the Government does not want to be charged with such a horrible political ploy, it better hit the ground running to correct the anomaly.
This is why many believe the President seems disengaged with realities in our Economy. Knowing that Cocoa still remains a huge part of our economic resource base, it would have been expected that more attention would be always paid to its management for the most beneficial results. We need the Cocoa money to boost our revenues to supplement the Oil and other sources for the massive infrastructural development goals set by the President.
On the other hand, could the President be sabotaged by some unscrupulous Officials at Cocobod to spoil his chances at re-election?
Well, experience shows Ghanaian Officials are capable of the most unimaginable corruption, and economic derailment. Let no one dispute that. The furnace of the Judgment debts is still warm after any attempt to douse the fire.
Some of us have long memories....
The President must directly intervene to save the Cocoa Industry now.
Long Live Ghana!!!

Are you surprised? I've been commenting about millions of dollars being extorted from Private Cocoa Buying Companies for years but nobody is paying attention. I can speak with an authority this regime is extorting between $20 million and $40 million dollars a year from these companies. This is where the bulk of NDC campaign money is coming from. They're scared to speak up and choose to suffer in silence. I guess they can't pass on these extortions to their customers anymore and it's affecting their bottom line. Who looses at the end? Ghana is the eventual looser. They don't care if these companies survive or fold so long as their pockets are full and able to buy power and continue to steal with impunity at our expense. It's not about developing or the prosperity of Ghana. I hope some of these bankrupt companies would have the courage to speak up and spill the beans. What else do they have to loose. Ask yourself, why people are sent to Ghana Cocoa Marketing Board boss to collect money all the time? One example is Akuah Donkor. Folks it's real; these criminal corrupt incompetent thieves parading as politicians and leadesr would eventually destroy our dear nation beyond redemption.

Some of these companies don't want to pay millions of dollars being extorted from them period. It's an open secret. They're complaining behind the scene. Don't beat around the bush.
