President. John Mahama genuinely doesn't know how to fix the dumsor crisis. It is a gigantic inability underpinned by incompetence, thievery, mismanagement and cluelessness. It is not about increasing utility tariffs. President. John Mahama has thus failed with the incoherence of their policy interventions to address the dumsor, dumsor which was promised to be a thing of the past.
The disastrous failure on the management front coupled with the rippling thievery has served to collapse the economy of this country and the Mahama-led NDC gov't must resign honourably.

This time, we should put aside our partisan interest and think about our welfare as citizens first!

Government does not produce money, it raises money through taxes, if you want more money pay higher taxes, I actually believe these agencies are inefficient, government should privatise part of the work to reduce costs.

Guess what Kofi Kapito, wages come with a whole range of financial and economic assessment and evaluation one of which is commonly called productivity. If Ghana's workers were as productive as other nations, the number of government work force could be slashed to half its size. If there was civil servant worker attitude changes that resulted in efficiency, service to the public and are courteous to clients/customers there could be a positive feedback from customers and citizens alike.
What is realistic wages anyway Mr. Kofi Kapito? Is it one that enables workers to buy cars, eat all they can eat and have fun on weekends? Have you noticed how private employers can fire employees for cause or layoff employees when there is business downturn? Have you ever seen government layoff of civil servants for low productivity and abuse of the system? Would you ask for an electronic time clock system where all civil servants are obligated to clock in at the start of the work day, clock out for lunch and back in after lunch and at the end of a work day? This attitude of entitlement with low productivity can only come from workers who do not know a thing about realities. Paying taxes is nothing new in any country, developed and under developed alike, Mr. Kapito.

I am soory,I did not see this article early enough to have time to comment. There's nothing like Realistic Salary that would Statisfy Workers in the Country because of these 2 elements in Manufa Accts.
(1).Overheads and Direct Expenses in COSTING.Which means the increase in salaries and wages goes on the product and therefore passed on to the Consumer. At what percentage so far can the gov't increase Salary.Unless the Utilities Companies are exempted from the increase in Salaries &Wages, which is unheard of,there's nothing like "Realistic Salaries & Realistic-Payment " in our part of the World. (2) The Excessive Greed of the Ghanaian Trader/Supplier/Retailer (cut-throat) attitude(that's the reason why several decades ago, gov't had to control prices). The antidote to neutralize that attitude is abundance of GOODS,Food, Services, -COMPETITIVE MARKET,etc. Authorities should not talk as if they do not know what's going on in the Country(excuse my word).Ghana is a place an increase in Salaries automatically increase Prices across the Country in less than 1 hour.A rumour of looming increase in the pump/fuel price, creates hoading and automatically increase prices on every commodity, etc, nationwide after the announcement (and the gov't is in petrol economy-heavy increase in fuel prices here and there). In a Country where everyone want to play Smart/er than the other,it's difficult for majority of the people;b'cos we all buy from the Same market place (Store, designer/tailor etc, rich or poor.
So,eventually the aim to increase the purchasing power of the Worker is defeated by the Market forces, becomes a 9 day wonder,or, to no avail.
to be continued .
