I wonder why the Military Command in recent times allow themselves to be used by politicians in performing pure internal security issues which are not beyond the capabilities of the Police.
Let it be known that those superiors who allow themselves to be compromised by politicians and some powerful civilians in doing their dirty jobs are gradually bringing this enviable and highly respected institution Worldwide into disrepute.
When salt looses its taste,it is, to my mind, more useless than sand.
Please, we appeal to our present crop of Military commanders to do well to preserve the respect and sanctity of their institution by being BOLD enough to say NO to those politicians or parties that would want to use them against the very people they are supposed to defend.
The energies of the Military in times of peace, is to be geared towards national development and certainly not destruction of the lives of their compatriots. We certainly know their capabilities in the area of infrastructural development.

Have you seen the people walking around perpetuating as police officers in Ghana? Too many of them are either too old, out of shape or uneducated.They lack the training, equipment, supervision and mandate to do anything more than harass the vulnerable.Other countries have police schools which churn out thousands of officers every year to replace the retiring and the ones who were sacked for bad performance.There is such a thing called building a state.If you refuse to build safeguards such as strong military and security, firefighters,wastemanagement,viable healthcare systems and schools in every corner of the country then the country is bound to fail.I have read about countries who started off with institutions like the police emergency first responders and firefighters combined into one and operating from one structure to save money.We really need to think out of the box here to resolve our problems and stop treating it's symptoms.

There was a time when soldiers were so disciplined until Rawlings and AFRC came to power. They had total disregard for law and order to the extent that, a Junior rank could under the barrel of the gun order an officer to salute him. Lawlessness paved way for anarchy and survival in the army meant how cruel you could be at a given time and place. At a point in time, it was rumored that the junior officers had planned to eliminate, annihilate the senior ones right from the ranks of Colonels to Generals. Rawlings in a broadcast to the nation had to refute this allegation to calm nerves down. However, since those days, our military has never been that institution of discipline but of utmost lawlessness. It will take a strong hand and proper orientation to bring back sanity into the men in green. We don't pay them with tax payers monies to protect individual's lands. In many countries, these lazy soldiers are used to beautify the cities by producing pavement tiles and fixing for allowances.

I think these Soldiers are most needed at frontlines to fight Boko Haram,and other existing and emerging terrorist groups whom are in no doubt dangerous to Society.
How could a Real Estate Developer have access to the Military to protect him to Rob the people of their lands in a Village.That is uncalled for.Shame to the Military Top Brass. It's time Soldiers are deployed to help on the Farms.
