I still cannot fathom the concept of government property being used for private business. The Police should have chartered a private bus for this event but rather used THREE police vehicles in an entourage to make the journey, all at the expense of the tax-payer. I am of the highest suspicion these officers were drunk returning from that festive atmosphere to involve the camry in the accident. Ghana should call for code of ethics at the workplace and address accountability of the usage of government property. This accident could have been avoided with a designated driver on a chartered bus.

First of all, RIP to the deceased and a speedy recovery to the injured. This isn't about narrow roads. I use that road almost every weekend and I'm nit surprised this happened. The police convoys drive like lunatics and try to bully or push everyone off the road when as they approach, not even considering if the curbs are safe or not, just because they have sirens on their cars and they're the only people who matter in Ghana.

I live in Kasoa and have seen and fail to understand why the police and army not only use government vehicles for their private functions but also refuse to obey any traffic regulations. They drive on the pavements and footpaths. They abuse the blue lights. They drive drunk etc etc.
It time the commander of MTTU clamps down on this unscrupulous behaviour by the police.

Oh my country Ghana where institutions set up with tax-payers money to ensure sanity, law and order quickly turn around to pervert their mandate, corrupt it and render every conceivable objective ineffective and self defeating. Can the top heirachy of the police service say that they do not see how police drivers misbehave on the road, misuse the siren and vehicles meant for performing serious national assignments? Does it have to result in deaths before they issue and enforce appropriate in house controls. Give them all the vehicles and gadgets in the world and they will destroy them in the shortest possible time and they will come complaining that they do not have the tools to work with. What sort of people are we?
