We are a poor developing country. Compared to the countries that have done extremely well industrially, we make absolutely no contribution to the global carbon emission levels. I think we should concentrate on making the most of cheap energy sources as have all the successful countries, to create jobs for our teeming unemployed. There is no point in a minister going round factories to check emission levels. He should rather check how many jobs they are creating for the youth of this country. We shouldn't even think of getting involved in signing any agreement. we are nowhere near there! What is the sense in playing the 'good boy' role when we are starving? THINK!

Will the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Mahama Ayariga explain to Ghanaians why retirees/pensioners of the CSIR have not been paid their pensions for close to over 8 months and why he asked the Director-General of the CSIR, Dr. Agyeman not to pay them, and prevented him from paying part of their pensions which has been in arrears for over 8 months?
Is that the position of the CSIR Council led by Mr. Incoom that retirees/pensioners of the CSIR should not be paid their pensions which has been in arrears for over 8 months and also that of Mahama Ayariga, the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation under whose ministry the CSIR is located?
Will the media fraternity, the TUC, the labour unions take this matter up and find out why, retirees/pensioners who have contributed their quota to Ghana's development, some for close to 4 decades, have not been paid their pensions for almost one year?
This is not how retirees/pensioners should be treated in this country. This is not how we should be treating the elderly in this country. Is President John Dramani Mahama aware that retirees/pensioners of the CSIR have not been paid their arrears for over 8months, and is that the position of the NDC gov't that retirees/pensioners of the CSIR should not be paid their pensions as instructed by Mahama Ayariga, the sector Minister of science?

Stupid idea, a minister sneaking in on industry? What is the role of the environment minster? What tools did he take along to measure air quality and so forth? Plain foolish.
